Last Saturday, July 25, 2026, GB Hydroponics Farm had the privilege of welcoming the Grade 12 students of Liceo – University of St. La Salle to our greenhouse as part of their research entitled "Productivity, Profitability, and Challenges of Hydroponic and Traditional Farmers." We are truly honored to have been chosen as one of their respondents and to share our experiences in hydroponic farming.

During their visit, we discussed our production practices, the opportunities and challenges that come with soilless cultivation, and the realities of operating a modern farm. It was a meaningful exchange of ideas, and we commend the students for taking the initiative to explore innovative and sustainable approaches to agriculture through academic research.

We are grateful to have been part of this academic endeavor and to support research that encourages students to connect classroom learning with real-world agricultural practices. Meaningful collaborations between educational institutions and local farms help foster innovation, promote knowledge-sharing, and inspire future agricultural professionals.

As agriculture continues to evolve, hydroponics stands as one of the many innovations contributing to more sustainable and efficient food production. We extend our sincere appreciation to the students and faculty of Liceo – University of St. La Salle for including GB Hydroponics Farm in their study, and we wish them every success in completing their research. 🌱💚

It’s inspiring to see brilliant young minds exploring how food can be grown better, safer, and more efficiently through modern farming methods.

Today, we welcomed another group of 3rd-year BET Major in Engineering Technology students from TUP-Visayas for a site visit and interview for their thesis entitled “Development of a Rotating Hexagonal Vertical Hydroponics System.” They observed our hydroponic setup up and discussed various methods as they sought to improve their design and learn the practical techniques used in hydroponic farming. This gave them hands-on insight into how these systems function in real-world production.

The students presented their concept, shared their ideas and sought feedback on both their project and the possible hydroponic methods and practices to be integrated in their system. The visit showed how the next generation aims to use modern farming, efficient food production, and the integration of engineering and technology to improve farming methods and advance sustainable food systems. 🌱

Good conversations and shared learning in the greenhouse this wonderful Sunday afternoon 🌱

We welcomed 3rd year Manufacturing Engineering Technology students from the Technological University of the Philippines - Visayas for a site visit and short interview. Their study, “Development of a Mechanical Cup Slitter,” connects closely with how styrofoam cups are used in hydroponic systems like ours.

We are glad to have hosted these brilliant young minds in the greenhouse today. The future of food production will continue to involve engineering and technology, and their role in improving systems and processes is becoming more important than ever.

Small innovations, as simple as improving the process of cup slitting, can help address gaps in food production and respond to the rising cost of food, making solutions more efficient, practical, and sustainable for everyone.
