Today, monitoring was conducted on the newly planted in**ed rice in Barangay Kuden, Talitay MDN. The rice seedlings are affected by heat and lack of water, as seen from the dry and cracked soil, uneven growth, and weak establishment of the young rice plants.

𝑪𝒓𝒐𝒑 𝑪𝒖𝒕𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑨𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒗𝒊𝒕𝒚 𝑪𝒐𝒏𝒅𝒖𝒄𝒕𝒆𝒅 𝒊𝒏 𝑩𝒂𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒈𝒂𝒚 𝑴𝒂𝒄𝒂𝒅𝒂𝒚𝒐𝒏, 𝑻𝒂𝒍𝒊𝒕𝒂𝒚, 𝑴𝑫𝑵

Today, a crop cutting activity was conducted in a 1.5-hectare hybrid corn seed production area in Barangay Macadayon, Talitay, Maguindanao del Norte.

The activity aimed to assess and compare the yield performance of the Filipina Hybrid Corn Seeds and Advanta Super 999 varieties distributed by MAFAR to determine which variety produced a higher yield under the same field conditions.

The activity was jointly conducted by MAFAR-Talitay through MMO Dasib M. Mendatu and Agricultural Technologist Engr. Rasida U. Dindo, in collaboration with the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist through Agricultural Technologists Aisah Bakal and Saharah Kasim.

This collaborative effort supports the continuous evaluation of hybrid corn varieties to help identify high-yielding seeds and provide reliable recommendations to corn farmers in the municipality.

𝑴𝑨𝑭𝑨𝑹 𝑻𝑨𝑳𝑰𝑻𝑨𝒀 𝑼𝑷𝑫𝑨𝑻𝑬𝑺!!

MAFAR-Talitay beneficiary Mrs. Salambai Latip conveyed her sincere appreciation to the 𝐌𝐀𝐅𝐀𝐑 𝐅𝐢𝐬𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐏𝐨𝐬𝐭-𝐇𝐚𝐫𝐯𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐃𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 for the provision of 2 fish drying racks.

She shared that the drying racks will greatly help in improving the quality of their processed fish products and increasing their income.

This initiative strengthens livelihoods and empowers local fish processors in the community.

MAFAR-Talitay continuously conducted field monitoring and assessment of crop areas affected by flooding in different barangays of the municipality. The activity aimed to assess the extent of damage to rice, corn, and other agricultural crops, gather accurate data and identify the immediate needs of affected farmers.

UPDATES!!

Today, MAFAR-Talitay, through the High Value Crops Development Program (HVCDP), distributed vegetable seeds and gardening tools to the Brgy. Adzal SWC Marketing Cooperative and Datu Mapandala Elementary School.

The gardening tools included pick mattocks, shovels, bolos, rakes, sprayers, and sprinklers. This support aims to help them maintain their gardens, grow more vegetables, and encourage food production in the community and school.

MAFAR-BARMM remains committed to empowering farmers, cooperatives, and educational institutions through programs that support sustainable agriculture and improved livelihoods.

MAFAR-Talitay proudly congratulates Agricultural Technologist 𝑬𝒏𝒈𝒓. 𝑹𝒂𝒔𝒊𝒅𝒂 𝑼𝒏𝒅𝒐𝒏𝒈 𝑫𝒊𝒏𝒅𝒐 for being awarded 𝑹𝒂𝒏𝒌 𝟏 – 𝑴𝒐𝒔𝒕 𝑶𝒖𝒕𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒏𝒅𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑻𝒓𝒂𝒊𝒏𝒆𝒆 during the Training of Trainers on Farm Business School (FBS) conducted by the Bangsamoro Agriculture and Fisheries Training Institute (BAFTI) on June 15–18, 2026 at the DA-ATI RTC XII, Tantangan, South Cotabato. This achievement is a testament to her dedication and commitment to serving the agricultural sector.

The four-day training equipped Agricultural Extension Workers (AEWs) from Maguindanao del Sur and Maguindanao del Norte with valuable knowledge and practical skills on Farm Business School, including farm business planning, financial management, enterprise development, and effective strategies for guiding farmers toward increased productivity and income.

MAFAR-Talitay extends its sincere appreciation to Sir Roy T. Ladiasan, CPA, Executive Director of BAFTI; Daud K. Lagasi, PhD, Assistant to Executive Director of BAFTI; Jessie V.
