Happy Earth Day! 🌍🌱
CDO Foodsphere Inc., through its CSR arm, Odyssey Foundation, Inc. (OFI), in partnership with the University of the Philippines Los Baños College of Forestry and Natural Resources, marked the launch of the Future Foresters’ Fund: Adopt-a-Hectare for Scholarship.
Built on a 5-year partnership with the UPLB Sierra Madre Land Grants, the program is designed to ensure sustainability that will grow for over two decades, supporting both the environment and future forestry scholars.
For its inaugural planting, 100 CDO volunteers came together to plant 625 native tree seedlings, including Yakal, Lauan, Apitong, Guijo, Malatuhat, Batino, and Kamatog, each one a tangible expression of commitment to long-term sustainability. This effort is expected to grow into approximately 3,125 trees in the next 25 years.
Anchored on OFI’s Kalikasan advocacy, the program goes beyond a one-day activity, bringing together forest restoration, forestry education, and employee volunteerism into a model that aims to create meaningful impact for years to come. 🌱
