Objectives:
1. Develop own lines of internationally-competitive fighters for stag and/or c**k national derbies
2. Use locally developed strains for PH climate resilience and long knife fighting style

Methodology
1. Use pure lines as base bloodlines - find the extraordinary and prepotent individuals from straight-bred materials
2. Develop 2-way crosses only, for better generational control
3. One of the parents has to be a pure seed from one of the base bloodlines
4. Yards are for full sisters (or yard sisters) only
5. Yards can only be used for tested individuals, lines, and families
6. Single-mate seed production and testing of new materials

Breeding By Objectives - Temperament and Fighting Style of my LDT Boston RH

I am from the purist school. Of course there are pure strains. Genetics is everything. Pedigree can only come from trusted breeders.

We have to set our own seed fowls. What fighting style do we want? How early maturing or late, are each family of crosses? Do we care how they look?

Mendel's Laws of Inheritance tells us that since we are breeding for the pit, selection parameters should be those that matter in the pit: intelligence, gameness, power, speed, general fighting style.

A x B = C

C x C is not C

You can only have C fighters from pure A's and B's.

That's why you need to single-mate pure individuals to find superior breeders, and develop lines from them.

Pure-to-pure or pure to crosses of the same bloodline, is the only way. Subfamilies to families, from ace-breeder individuals. Lines are developed according to the subfamily, and not just the name of the bloodline.

Looks and colors do not matter in the pit, and does not need to be a part of the selection process. We are breeding for the pit, not for fashion shows.

The videos below are the generations of LDT Boston RH I used through the years, and the fighting style I am trying to set in my Boston substrain, defects and all. Kuba has a humpback, and EsKubaDos, his son, is cross-legged. But I still use them and get good fighters from them.

Breeding By Objectives - The Purist Way (Year 6)

1. Acquire and develop pure lines/families (straight strains - uniform fighting style/phenotype, not necessarily the looks)
2. Select individual breeders according to the target fighting style (I don't care how they look, really)
3. Search for hybrid vigor in battle crosses, develop permutations of cross ratios (I use 2-way crosses only, and one of the parents has to be pure)
4. Look for manifestations of the fighting traits of the tested seed among its lines and generations, and test the line as soon as possible (in battle crosses and pure production)
5. Always look for new individuals that can be made seed fowls (i.e. source of breeding materials)

I have a few families of competitive battle crosses.
