My Name is Abbas. I am part of PCA's Volunteer Flagship Training Program Batch 44. Our Current Topic was "The Philosophy of Philanthropy. In my opinion philanthropy is giving back to the community and making a positive impact on Community. It is a Selfless action that can bring significant changes and improvements in a community.
In Islam, philanthropy is considered a highly valued and encouraged act. The concept of philanthropy in Islam is deeply rooted in the principles of charity, compassion, and kindness.
In Islam, giving to those in need is considered a fundamental aspect of faith, and is emphasized through various forms of charity, such as Zakat (obligatory charity), Sadaqah (voluntary charity), and Waqf (endowment).
The Quran and Hadith (Prophetic traditions) emphasize the importance of giving to those in need, and promise rewards for those who do so. For example, the Quran states, "Those who spend their wealth in the way of Allah and then do not follow up their spending by stressing their benevolence and causing hurt, will have their reward with their Lord, and they will have no fear, nor will they grieve." (Quran 2:262)
In Islam, philanthropy is not limited to financial giving, but also includes acts of kindness, volunteering, and advocating for justice and human rights.
How do you think Islamic values and principles can inspire and guide philanthropic efforts?
You can also give your opinion and you can be part of this volunteer flagship training program.
Thank you...
