World Bee Day was celebrated at National Agricultural Research Centre (NARC), Islamabad on 20 May 2026.
Salient aspects dilated upon:
- No Bees, No Life on Earth.
- NARC should act as Centre of Excellence on Honey. It should have tentacles pan-Pakistan to exploit full potential of honey production in Pakistan.
- Need for Honey Mandi (like Sabzi Mandi) in all province's (initially), instead of only Peshawar to encourage beekeeping in other regions and to enhance honey production in Pakistan.
- Need to fix price of honey as of other crops to pay back the due to the honey farmers.
- Research on Sidr honey in lines with Manuka Honey to establish it as high-end produce fetching great value.
- Awareness at school level to plant bee flora to educate the flag bearers of tomorrow.
- Bee flora plantation, especially Sidr, Acacia etc along Motorway, National Highways, Canals, Forest areas, Dams etc.
- Facilitation to farmers by Forest Department.
- Awareness on Raw Honey to discourage marketing of adultrated, filtered, processed honey.
- Awareness on honey of Choti Makhi, Bari Makhi and other species by all as is being propagated by TABARRUK Foods.
- Production of value added products; Bee Venom, Bee Pollen, Royal Jelly, Propolis, Bee Wax etc.
- Honey Bee Farming is currently a poor man's job. Production stream direly need person with capital to take the onus of produion, who can take it to new heights.
