MoU extended for sending Pakistani workers to Korea
ISLAMABAD: Ministry of Human Resource Development Government of Pakistan and Ministry of Employment and Labour Republic of Korea have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) here on Tuesday. The document is an extension of existing MOU between the two friendly countries for export of Pakistani work force to Republic of Korea under 'Employmen
t Permit System' (EPS) which is executed jointly by the Overseas Employment Corporation (OEC), Ministry of Human Resource Development Pakistan and Human Resources Development Service of Korea (HRD). Talking to APP, minister for HRD Chaudhry Wajahat Hussain said that the understanding is in place between the two countries for export of Pakistani manpower since 2007 and the Overseas Employment Corporation (OEC) hitherto has sent over 2800 unskilled workers to Republic of Korea who are earning on average monthly salary of US $ 1200-1500. "It is an ongoing programme and it is anticipated that a sizeable number of Pakistani work force seeking foreign employment will be dispatched to Republic of Korea in future as well," he added. The MOU was signed by Federal Minister for Human Resource Development Ch Wajahat Hussain and the Director Human Resources Development Service of Korea Lim Worl Jae. On this occasion, Secretary Ministry of Human Resource Development Muhammad Ahsan Raja and the Managing Director Overseas Employment Corporation Saeed Ahmed Shaikh were also present.
