Last Saturday we gathered for a cozy home café-style meeting at Centrum Wielokulturowe. We shared homemade sweets, good conversation, and a lovely afternoon together.

Thank you to everyone who came and brought such delicious treats. Looking forward to the next one! 😊

Event organized in cooperation with Centrum Wielokulturowe w Krakowie.

Sharing the Haresseh recipe from our workshop, in case you would like to recreate this delicious dessert at home. If you bake it, tag us because we love seeing your creations 🧁

Two cups semolina
One cup coconut
One cup sugar
One quarter cup corn oil or melted butter
One cup yogurt with half a teaspoon of baking soda dissolved in it

Mix all the ingredients together and spread the mixture in an oil greased baking tray.
Bake in the oven for about half an hour at 180°C but keep an eye on it because it can be ready sooner.

Cut into squares and decorate with almonds, then brown the top.

Syrup
One cup sugar for every cup water
Two cups water
Two cups sugar

Heat the mixture until it starts boiling, then add one tablespoon rose water and one tablespoon lemon juice or the juice from one lemon.
Let it boil until you reach your preferred thickness.

Pour the syrup over the baked Haresseh depending on how sweet and moist you want it. Enjoy! ☺️

Two Saturdays ago, we kicked off our first workshop. 🎊 We learned how to bake Hareseh, a traditional Arabic Jordanian dessert, with Andromeda Leena guiding us through every step and showing how simple and delicious this recipe can be.

Soft, lightly sweet, and perfect with a cup of tea or coffee. Once you try it, you’ll know that one slice is never enough.

Thank you to everyone who attended this workshop at Centrum Vela, and to our partners there for the collaboration. More moments and more desserts are coming soon 🤗.
