DE SUPREME LONG GRAIN PARBOILED RICE
You may be aware of DE SUPREME Long grain Parboiled rice also known as converted rice, is treated at the harvesting stage while still in the hulls. A type of rice that has been altered through various processing methods to improve it for cooking and eating. Different varieties of rice can be processed into Parboiled Rice such as paddy, rough or ribe rices. The rice is soaked by steam heating or water boiling the rice before the bran and germ are removed or hulled from the kernel. The rice is then partially cooked to jellify and thicken the starch in the grain as well as to add nutrients into the rice kernel which are contained in the bran and germ. In addition to adding nutrients, this procedure is undertaken in order to provide a stiffer rice that does not stick together and is firmer in texture. Steam soaking the rice prior to milling allows it to become extra fluffy in consistency while partially cooking helps decrease the time necessary to prepare the rice. When prepared by the consumer, Parboiled Rice cooks quickly without becoming soft and mushy. Because of the processes involved, this type of rice can be cooked, frozen or canned without much loss of kernel structure and texture. Parboiled Rice is best suited for side dishes and warm or cold rice salads. DE SUPREME BASMATI RICE
If you think rice is just rice, here are just a few of the reasons why DE SUPREME Basmati is the best in its world. Basmati is a healthy “supergrain”
Basmati is gluten-free and low in fat. It contains all eight essential amino acids, folic acid, and is very low in sodium and has no cholesterol. Basmati has a low to medium glycaemic index, meaning that energy is released at a slower, steadier rate leading to a more balanced level of energy. Basmati is a taste sensation, the light, fluffy texture of Basmati’s long, slender grains offers the palate a totally different experience in terms of mouth-feel and taste – distinctive, unique and slightly “nutty.”
Basmati requires constant love and affection. Basmati has a wonderful aroma
Literally translated as ‘the fragrant one’, Basmati has been described as having the aroma of sun-baked wood and flowers. If you want to sell your house, just cook DE SUPREME Basmati rice instead of baking bread. We Associate with countries like Pakistan, Thailand, India & China in other to make sure that the best gets to you. DE SUPREME JASMINE RICE
Jasmine rice is a rice varietal which is grown primarily in Thailand, although other nations cultivate the long grained, aromatic rice as well. It is frequently served with Thai and Chinese dishes, as the subtle, nutty flavor and rich aroma are very pleasing to the palate. Like other varieties of rice, jasmine rice is a grass which is cultivated in water logged paddies. During the harvest season, the long stalks of the rice are cut and threshed to remove the rice, which can be left in a hulled form and sold as brown rice, or shucked and sold as white rice. DE SUPREME Jasmine rice has been bred for easy harvest, and unlike wild rice species, it will not shatter when it ripens, which would scatter the grains into the water that the rice grows in, making them impossible to harvest. Jasmine rice is often compared to Indian Basmati rice, another long grained rice variety. However, Basmati is aged before being sold, and has a different although equally delicious flavor. Both rice varieties tend to be less sticky than other forms of rice, though, and when cooked properly will form fluffy, light piles of slightly chewy, nutty, well-formed grains. The trick to cooking jasmine rice well is using minimal water, so that the rice is steamed, rather than boiled. Whether you are steaming jasmine rice or boiling it, it still needs to be rinsed before cooking. If boiling, the rice and water are added to the pot together: most cooks recommend one and one half cups water to one cup jasmine rice. The lid is placed on the pot while the rice is raised to a boil, and then the temperature is turned down to a simmer until it is cooked all the way through. If the rice was pre-soaked, this will take approximately 10 minutes: if not, the rice will take around 20 minutes to finish cooking, after which it should be gently fluffed with a fork and covered to rest for another five minutes before serving. RICE :
RICE is the seed of the monocot plant Oryza sativa, of the grass family (Poaceae). As a cereal grain, it is the most important staple food for a large part of the world's human population, especially in tropical Latin America, East, South and Southeast Asia. It is the grain with the second highest worldwide production, after maize ("corn"). Since a large portion of maize crops are grown for purposes other than human consumption, rice is probably the most important grain with regards to human nutrition and caloric intake, providing more than one fifth of the calories consumed worldwide by our species. A traditional food plant in Africa, rice has the potential to improve nutrition, boost food security, foster rural development and support sustainable landcare. In early 2008, some governments and retailers began rationing supplies of the grain due to fears of a global rice shortage. The name wild rice is usually used for species of the grass genus Zizania, both wild and domesticated, although the term may also be used for primitive or uncultivated varieties of Oryza. Rice is normally grown as an annual plant, although in tropical areas it can survive as a perennial and can produce a ratoon crop for up to 20 years. The rice plant can grow to 1–1.8 m tall, occasionally more depending on the variety and soil fertility. The grass has long, slender leaves 50–100 cm long and 2–2.5 cm broad. The small wind-pollinated flowers are produced in a branched arching to pendulous inflorescence 30–50 cm long. The edible seed is a grain (caryopsis) 5–12 mm long and 2–3 mm thick. Rice cultivation is well-suited to countries and regions with low labor costs and high rainfall, as it is very labor-intensive to cultivate and requires plenty of water for cultivation. On the other hand, mechanized cultivation is extremely oil-intensive, more than other food products with the exception of beef and dairy products.[citation needed] Rice can be grown practically anywhere, even on a steep hill or mountain. Although its parent species are native to South Asia and certain parts of Africa, centuries of trade and exportation have made it commonplace in many cultures worldwide. The traditional method for cultivating rice is flooding the fields whilst, or after, setting the young seedlings. This simple method requires sound planning and servicing of the water damming and channeling, but reduces the growth of less robust w**d and pest plants that have no submerged growth state, and deters vermin. While with rice growing and cultivation the flooding is not mandatory, all other methods of irrigation require higher effort in w**d and pest control during growth periods and a different approach for fertilizing the soil.
