What Smart Investors Are Doing Now

They’re not waiting for the hype to return. They’re executing five key plays:

Backing survivors with clean balance sheets and operational discipline.
Focusing on profitable crop segments—not novelty crops. (Leafy greens, berries, herbs, mushrooms). Sensible farms produce what the market wants and trial new crops intelligently but not with massive wasteful R&D tech budgets to produce wheat for example.
Understanding climate, energy, and market conditions regionally.
Prioritizing greenhouse and hybrid models where sunlight and labor costs permit.
Demanding real diligence—not pretty decks. Working with technical and business experts to fill in the knowledge gaps.

In 2021, I predicted that vertical farming was nearing the “Peak of Inflated Expectations” on Gartner’s Hype Cycle. Three years later, the data speaks volumes: more than $2.

Moringa: A Superfood for Tilapia

Moringa oleifera, a nutrient-rich plant, is gaining traction as a valuable ingredient in aquaculture feed. Scientific research has shown that incorporating Moringa leaf meal into Tilapia diets can enhance growth, improve nutrient utilization, and boost the immune system.

Benefits of Moringa for Tilapia:

Improved Growth: Studies have demonstrated that Moringa can significantly enhance weight gain, specific growth rate, and feed conversion efficiency in Tilapia.
Enhanced Nutrient Utilization: Moringa leaf meal can improve the digestibility of nutrients, leading to better absorption and utilization by Tilapia.
Boosted Immunity: Moringa contains compounds that can strengthen the immune system of Tilapia, making them more resistant to diseases.
Sustainability and Cost-Effectiveness:

Moringa is a sustainable and readily available resource in many tropical and subtropical regions.
It can be a cost-effective alternative to traditional fishmeal, reducing reliance on wild fish stocks.
As research continues to explore the benefits of Moringa in aquaculture, it is becoming increasingly clear that this "miracle tree" can play a significant role in promoting sustainable and healthy aquaculture practices.

What do we know about the government of Puerto Rico? Well, for one thing...this most recent Island-wide power outage is yet again proof of corruption in the administration that oversaw billions, yes…billions with a B, of financial aid sent by the Federal Government, what happened with that money?

What happened to the power grid that was getting fixed? Puerto Rico Energy and Power Authority or PREPA was given billions to fix the energy grid. How did that work out? To date, FEMA has obligated over $17.7 billion to PREPA for emergency work and permanent work projects related to Hurricane María and subsequent natural catastrophes since 2017.

The complete political distraction of the LUMA involvement (a private company that was awarded a contract to distribute electricity around the island, but PREPA continues to operate the power plants, controls the funds, and has used LUMA as a political and media shield). The net result of years of planning and hundreds of millions being spent on the PREPA problem?

Power started going out on the island before Hurricane Fiona ever made landfall. This is a very important subject because this is a matter of life and death. Remember that more than 3,000 people died after Hurricane Maria because they were electricity-dependent people.

When you have different people who worked in top-level positions during the administration - past administrations of both parties who were hired by Luma in top positions, how do you suppose things were going to change? The cold reality is there's not a single project completed with reconstruction funds. They're still planning and designing, spending hundreds of millions which is going to consultants, advisors, and bureaucracy.

Instead of pointing fingers, laying blame, or stating the obvious (okay, we'll state it, corruption must be addressed, perpetrators must be held accountable, and money must get to local communities to solve these issues), I still believe solutions are possible.

What do we know about the PEOPLE of Puerto Rico? Well, can anyone say Ricky Renunciacíon? The administration that oversaw billions, yes…billions with a B, of financial aid sent by the Federal Government, what happened with that money? Ricky Renuncia: the Demand of Puerto Rican People. Early in the summer of 2019 in Puerto Rico, historic protests by the Puerto Rican people showed that the power, for just a moment, lay with the people.

Unless and until there is an Island-wide PREPA/LUMA Renunciacíon led by Puerto Ricans for Puerto Ricans, nothing is going to change and stories like this will continue to be "la normalidad".

Is there anyone among you willing to lead the PREPA/LUMA Renunciacíon?

About 90% of the island's customers lost power - the latest in a series of blackouts since Hurricane Maria in 2017.

According to a 2023 report by Research and Markets, there are currently over 1,000 aquaponic vertical farms operating in the world. This number is expected to grow to over 2,000 by 2025.

The growth of aquaponic vertical farms is being driven by a number of factors, including:

The increasing demand for locally sourced, sustainable food
The need to reduce the environmental impact of food production
The potential for aquaponic vertical farms to produce high yields of crops and fish in a relatively small amount of space
Aquaponic vertical farms are a relatively new technology, but they have the potential to revolutionize the way we grow food. By combining the benefits of aquaculture (fish farming) and hydroponics (growing plants without soil), aquaponic vertical farms can produce nutrient-rich food while using less water and land than traditional farming methods.

The growth of aquaponic vertical farms is also being driven by advances in technology, such as the development of new lighting systems and nutrient delivery systems. These advances are making it possible to grow crops and fish more efficiently and effectively in vertical farms.

As the technology continues to develop, we can expect to see more and more aquaponic vertical farms popping up around the world. These farms have the potential to play a major role in feeding the growing global population in a sustainable and environmentally friendly way.

Moringa Contains All the Essential Amino Acids Your Body Needs!

Moringa — A Powerful Multipurpose Plant

Moringa may be one of the most important yet vastly underutilized plants available. Virtually every part of it is edible and has medicinal qualities, and most parts can be consumed either raw or cooked. Globally, the leaves, roots, pods, and flowers are most typically consumed.

You can also harvest the plant as a microgreen. As noted in the mini-review “Health Benefits of Moringa Oleifera,” published in the Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention (APJCP) in 2014:

“Moringa oleifera is a multi-purpose herbal plant used as human food and an alternative for medicinal purposes worldwide. It has been identied byresearchers as a plant with numerous health benefits including nutritional and medicinal advantages. Moringa oleifera contains essential amino acids, carotenoids in leaves, and components with nutraceutical properties ... An important factor that accounts for the medicinal uses of Moringa oleifera is its very wide range of vital antioxidants, antibiotics and nutrients including vitamins and minerals. Almost all parts from Moringa can be used as a source for nutrition with other useful values.”

Health Benefits of Moringa

According to a 2011 paper on the nutritional composition of Moringa leaves, “The values of amino acids, fatty acids, minerals, and vitamin profiles reflect a desirable nutritional balance.” A 2007 paper in Phytotherapy Research also describes Moringa’s benefits, noting that:

“... [T]he leaves, roots, seed, bark, fruit, owers and immature pods act as cardiac and circulatory stimulants, possesses antitumor, antipyretic, antiepileptic, anti-inflammatory, antiulcer, antispasmodic, diuretic, antihypertensive, cholesterol-lowering, antioxidant, antidiabetic, hepatoprotective, antibacterial and antifungal activities, and are being employed for the treatment of different ailments in the indigenous system of medicine ...”

Moringa Is an Inexpensive Way to Optimize Your Nutrition

Moringa offers many of the same medicinal benefits as broccoli. Both also contain all the essential amino acids. Moringa, however, is far more economical to grow. It’s extremely hardy and drought resistant, making it an attractive alternative — particularly in underserved populations worldwide where health care and Western medicines are hard to come by.

The fact that you can eat more or less the whole tree in a variety of different ways also makes it an attractive option. The long seed pods, colloquially known as Moringa drumsticks, are a common staple in Indian cuisine.

You can also harvest these seeds, sow them, and harvest them like microgreens, i.e., while they’re small like sprouts.

https://www.FusionFarms.ag Fusion Farms PR is an Indoor Farm in Mayagüez, . We have our own grove of 130 trees from which we harvest the leaves and incorporate them as the protein source for our own fish food that we feed to our which are the nutrient engine for our beyond-organic food!

We use nutrient-rich aquaponics water to fertilize our Moringa trees and we have bees that pollinate the trees and make honey from the flowers.

We have started growing Moringa on an 80-acre parcel where we will eventually be growing 6,500 Moringa Trees to create a commercial-scale business around all the various products which come from this amazing plant!

At some point in our history, a small tribe of hunter-gatherers made an incredible discovery that would forever alter the course of human history.

They realized that, instead of relying on fishing, hunting, and foraging for edible plants, they could actually grow their own food, right out of the ground.

This ancient tribe most likely lived on this ancient farm where they planted, harvested, processed, and consumed their own food, making it the world’s first known hyperlocal agricultural settlement.

That was a pivotal moment in human history, ushering in the first HyperLocal Agricultural Initiatives!

It’s difficult to overstate the importance of this development; nearly everything that we enjoy today begins with our ancestors coming out of their caves and planting the seeds of civilization. And it's equally difficult to underestimate how far away from this core concept of tribal stability we've gone.

Strange times seem to have come to an end, and I believe we are seeing signs of a shift back to a more traditional view of wealth.

All it took was a devastating war, record-high inflation, unprecedented rate hikes, and an appalling level of government incompetence, to finally realize that we need to know the basics, like where is our food grown!

And that’s reason enough to be optimistic, people are waking up to this realization and it is creating a global movement.

Over the past several years, bad businesses and dumb ideas soared in value, and not too far off the DotCom Boom, there's been a similar rush to invest, regardless of the business plan or trajectory to profitability.

But people now realize that there really are basic blocking and tackling criteria by which every business should be evaluated.
People are starting to figure out that, they need to know where and how their food is grown.

And this is why I’m really optimistic.

There’s a whole lot of chatter about recession these days-- whether it’s coming, how bad will it be, how long will it last, etc.

But I think that’s an overly simplified way of looking at it.

A new era of opportunity is just beginning for those with a more traditional view -- that wealth is not defined by rapidly depreciating pieces of paper, but rather by the ability to efficiently produce highly-valued goods and services, namely the food that you consume every day.

We would love to have you look at a revolutionary approach to getting us back to the basics of our agricultural heritage, so please take a look at https://lnkd.in/e7QsTrR6 and let us know if this resonates with you!
