Hablemos claro por un minuto.

Construir una finca desde cero en las montañas de Orocovis no ha sido fácil. Hemos tenido contratiempos, retrasos, lluvia en el peor momento, y más de unos domingos perdidos resolviendo problemas.

La puerta que todavía no está terminada. La fecha de inspección que todavía no tenemos. Los días que nos preguntamos si estamos locos.

Pero luego miramos esta tierra — y nos acordamos por qué empezamos.

Este post es para cualquiera que esté construyendo algo difícil. Sigue. 💪

Let's be’real for a minute.

Building a finca from scratch in the mountains of Orocovis hasn't be’n easy. We've h’d setbacks, delays, rain at the worst times, and more than a few Sundays lost to problem-solving.

The gate that's no’ quite done. The inspection date we still don't ha’e. The days we wonder if we're c’azy.

But then we look at this land — and we remember why we started.

This post is for anyone out there building something hard. Keep going. 💪

El círculo que vieron en el post de hoy? Es más que concreto. ⚒️

Cuando empezamos este proyecto, Julie y Joël querían honrar al pueblo indígena de esta isla — los Taínos — y mantener una conexión espiritual con la naturaleza que nos rodea. Este círculo de fogata no es al azar. Estudiamos los símbolos taínos y la forma en que nuestros antepasados se reunían, y tejimos eso en cada detalle.

Cada símbolo grabado representa algo real de esta tierra, su historia, y la gente que la cuidó mucho antes que nosotros.⚖️

No estamos construyendo solo una fogata. Estamos honrando un legado — y la forma en que esta tierra siempre nos ha llamado a respetarla.🇵🇷

The circle you saw in yesterday’s post? It's more than just concrete.⚒️🪏

When we started this project, we wanted to honor the indigenous people of this island — the Taíno — and maintain a spiritual connection to the nature that surrounds us. This fire pit circle isn't random. We studied Taíno symbols and the way our ancestors gathered, and we wove that into every detail.⚖️

Every symbol etched into it represents something real about this land, its history, and the people who cared for it long before us.🇵🇷

We're not just building a fire pit. We’re honoring a legacy — and the way this land has always called us to respect it.

Hace tiempo que no les hablamos por aquí... Pero la finca no ha estado en silencio. 💚

Han pasado meses desde que Joël y yo desaparecimos un poco de las redes. Mientras tanto, mucho ha pasado en la Finca Quebrada Seca.

Mira lo que ha estado ocurriendo:

🚪 Una puerta nueva, diseñada por Joël y construida por artesanos locales
🌱 550 plantones de vetiver — para detener la erosión de forma natural
🔥 Un nuevo área de fogata, con un círculo que honra al Taíno
🌵 Cactus San Pedro recién plantados — símbolo de los corazones abiertos
⛰️ 4,000 pies cuadrados de pasto nuevo
🚗 Una entrada redondeada para facilitar el recibo de nuestros visitantes

Todavía falta un poco. Todavía no tenemos fecha firme para la inspección final. Pero cada día nos acercamos más.

No hemos olvidado a nadie. Solo estamos construyendo algo que vale la pena esperar.
