Innovation: Our Capital for a Sustainable Future

Today, we mark World Creativity and Innovation Day — a date that reflects VentilAQUA’s DNA and our commitment to transforming complex challenges into cutting-edge engineering solutions.

For us, innovation is the engine that allows us to lead. Under the strategic vision of our CEO, Carlos Freire de Oliveira, VentilAQUA reinvests 10% of its annual turnover into Research and Development (R&D) — a figure that places us significantly above the European Union average.

This continuous investment positions us at the forefront of one of the most pressing global environmental challenges: the remediation of PFAS — the so-called “forever chemicals” — in complex water streams, from leachates to drinking water.

Our work shows that electrochemical processes can move beyond conventional treatment approaches, enabling the destruction of PFAS compounds rather than their simple transfer between phases, while maintaining controlled energy demand.

Solving the "Blue Water" Challenge in Global Travel ✈️🚆

Treating wastewater from airplanes and high-speed trains (known as Skykem or Blue Water) is a complex task. These effluents are heavily loaded with chemical germicides, antifreeze, and high organic matter that standard treatment plants can’t handle alone.

The VentilAQUA Solution: Using Electrocoagulation and Ozone Oxidation, we neutralize these complex chemicals at the source.
