We are a sixty-something couple, attempting to live an off-grid, vegan life within the tranquility of a natural forest in Portugal. We share our lives with goats, who help us combat forest fires by keeping the land clear of flammable brush. Morels for dinner... courtesy of the lower veg garden. Over the last 6 years, these have been quietly proliferating, showing themselves in slowly increasing numbers every spring. This is the first time I've harvested them...
