Lately I’ve been watching nature slow down,
the mornings softer, the air heavier, the trees letting go without asking why.

And our bodies are always trying to do the same.

We move through our own seasons too,
times to bloom,
times to shed,
times to rest beneath the soil and root quietly.

But we forget.
We keep blooming through winter,
mistaking stillness for failure,
when in truth, it’s just integration.

When you start living with the seasons instead of against them,
you begin to feel it,
that deep exhale,
that return home to your rhythm.

Something beautiful is forming around this,
a way to help you honor your inner and outer cycles,
to live more attuned, more nourished, more you.

(It’s still quietly rooting.
You’ll know when it sprouts.) 🌙

The September sun still warms my skin, and I’m enjoying every last golden afternoon ☀️. But evenings… they tell another story. The air cooler, the candles lit earlier, and my body whispering: slow down, ground, nourish.

And here’s the thing most of us don’t know: our hormones feel this shift too.

Studies show that many hormones follow the seasons, peaking in summer, then moving differently as autumn arrives. Cortisol (our stress hormone) gently rises as daylight shortens. And for women, autumn mirrors the luteal phase: progesterone softens our energy, our bodies ask for deeper nourishment, and sometimes PMS or fatigue feels stronger.

This is why in September your cravings might start changing, why figs, grapes, roasted roots, mushrooms, and warm spices and soups, suddenly feel right. 🍇🥕🍂

I’ve written about this transition in detail on Substack: the science, the rituals, and the foods that help us move smoothly into September, October, and November.

As the season shifts, so do our bodies. Autumn always asks me to slow down a little, to ground, and to take extra care of my immune system.

One of the ways I do that is with broth. A pot of mushrooms, roots, and herbs, left to simmer until the kitchen fills with that earthy, grounding smell. It’s not glamorous, but it’s deeply nourishing. Mushrooms in particular are like quiet healers. They’ve been used for centuries to support immunity, reduce inflammation, and help us through the colder months.

For me, a mug of this broth it steadies me in busy weeks of single parenting, writing, and coaching, and it has carried me through times when I felt tired and stretched thin. And not to forget through pregnancy, to hydrate and provide minerals, immune support and steady energy ( just leaving the reishi mushrooms out)

The full recipe is accessible on my Substack, but only with paid members. Not because I don’t want to give it away, but because creating, testing, and writing recipes takes time and love. Paid subscriptions (it’s €6 a month, the price of one very overpriced oat milk latte ☕️😂) are what allow me to keep doing this work.

I thought I knew change.
New houses, new cities, new countries.
I never feared starting over.

But nothing prepared me for this change.
The one I did not choose.
The one that broke me and my family.

And I know I’m not alone. For me, the wound was a broken family. For you, it might be the longing for a child that never came, a body that no longer behaves, a friendship that quietly fades, a loved one gone too soon, a job that ends, a homeland left behind. Loss wears many faces, but it always asks the same thing of us: how do we live inside what we cannot control?

This is what I wrote about in my latest Substack essay — grief, survival, surrender, and the small acts of nourishment that keep us tethered when life doesn’t look the way we imagined.

There’s a reason almost every ancient tradition recommended warm foods during menstruation. 🌙

Soups, teas, stews, simple meals that keep the womb relaxed, the blood moving, and digestion steady when our bodies are more sensitive.

One of my favorite rituals when I bleed is making a big pot of soup, filled with grounding roots, gentle protein, and warming spices like ginger, cumin, and turmeric. It soothes cramps, replenishes minerals, and reminds me that food can be medicine.

Find my Menstrual Cramp Relief Soup on Substack, a recipe that’s guided by both traditional wisdom and my own lived practice. 💛

👉 The full recipe is available for my paid subscribers (€6/month). Your support helps me keep creating and sharing these nourishing recipes and reflections consistently. Each week I’ll bring you a new recipe, alongside personal reflections, and how to use food as medicine for your cycle, hormones, and overall wellbeing.

There’s a silence I didn’t expect in motherhood.

Not the tender silence of a sleeping child,
or the soft hush before she wakes.

But the hollow, aching silence that fills a house
when she’s simply… not there.

When her shoes are still by the door,
her cup is still on the counter,
but her laughter, her footsteps, her little voice, are nowhere.

Taking a step back from the gram, not from you
🌊🌿☀️🧡

With everything going on in the world and the constant triggers from the gram, I’ve been feeling a little overwhelmed.

So I’m taking some offline time to return to myself, my body, and the little things that truly matter.
Because while this space can be beautiful, it’s also loud, fast, and often not in tune with our natural rhythm.

✨ Our hormones don’t thrive in overstimulation.
If you’ve been feeling off, anxious or tired, maybe you need to love yourself a little more too.

I’ve been shifting away from IG toward something softer & more spacious.
🌱 You can now find me on Substack, where I share nourishing recipes, hormone-friendly tips & reflections to support your cycle, fertility, pregnancy, and postpartum.

I’ll be back here when it feels right, but for now find me on Substack.

💌 It’s free to subscribe—link in bio 💛

This summer I’m choosing more: ocean dips, nutrient-rich food, tight hugs, slower days, warm meals & offline time. Leaving this loud space is how I love myself more, because when we love ourselves, we can’t fail. 🎶

Swipe for a photo dump of what that looks like:

1. Eat your clams: Iron, B12 & minerals your body thrives on
2. Hug your dear ones 🤗
3. Live in the moment, go crab hunting 🦀
4. Eat oysters, nature’s multivitamin 🦪
5. Time with friends = nourishment 🥰
6. Warm soups, also in summer, your gut and hormones will thank you.

Swipe through to learn:
– how much protein your body actually needs
– why it’s key for blood sugar & hormone health
– and how to add more in without overthinking it
