Atashgah (House of Fire)
Sculptural Mirror
Built wooden structure with mirrored interior, living candle
Dimensions variable
Atashgah is a prismatic sculptural mirror — a built wooden structure whose mirrored interior is designed to hold a living flame. The work takes its name and form from the Zoroastrian fire temples, where sacred fires have been continuously tended for more than fifteen centuries. Through wars, migrations, and the restructuring of civilizations, fire keepers have protected these living flames as acts of devotion, continuity, and remembrance.
