Our story

Everything began on a beautiful day in November 2017, in Portugal's south coast of Algarve. It was the time of the year, when the sunsets become even more orange, many plants stop to flower and the wine trees get dark red leaves, some are already falling to the ground. However, some trees are just waiting for the temperature difference between day and night to start to make some of the most delicious and juicy fruits, of which Portugal is rich for and the Algarve famous! Citrus fruits, charming orange and lemon trees, that are presenting their fruits proud and shiny in the sun lights! Fresh pressed orange juices are part of Portugal's food & drinking culture like Bacalhau and a good coffee. But what if we are more thirsty? How is it about soft drinks and soda-lemonades? Is it possible to produce even a soda-lemonade in a bottle, with fresh juices? We love drinks like this from other countries and we were definitely missing it. So the idea came to our mind: Why not just produce it by ourselves? From there, we spent a lot of time in the kitchen, pressing juices, working on recipes, trying different herbs to give it a special taste, visited farmers and were on the search for the right juices and partners to bring our idea to reality. Our strong willingness and the recklessness just to do something if we like it made it possible: Okay, it still took a bit of time until we could hold the first bottle in our hands - but – LICO lemonade was born!

Our aim is not just to produce a very tasty and natural soda-lemonade. We also want to increase the awareness of the consumption, because it is you who has the power. To consume local is a way to change the world. Drink local and think global!
