Some final Corte Vetusto Mezcal news that I’m particularly proud to see come to fruition.
Earlier this year, Rob at Berry Bros. & Rudd agreed to a second Corte Vetusto retail exclusive - this time for our inaugral Pechuga, following the success of the Ancestral release.
Of the 84 bottles allocated, 78 were pre-sold ahead of release.
For a small, independent mezcal brand, seeing that level of demand through one of the world’s most respected w**e and spirits merchants is something I’m incredibly proud of.
It was also further proof of something I’ve believed since creating the brand: exceptional mezcal can sit comfortably alongside the world’s great w**es and spirits when it is given the right context.
And there are still a couple of pieces of work from my time with the brand yet to appear.
At the end of the month, a Corte Vetusto cocktail will go live as part of the stunning new menu at The Bloomsbury Club from Antonio Papariello & team.
In October, a new cocktail at the The American Bar at The Stafford London goes live. This account has supported me since I launched the brand and it’s the 9th menu we’ve been part of. An unbelievable relationship, built on shared values.
Different channels, but the same approach throughout: build the brand account by account, create genuine advocacy, and give people a reason to care about what’s in the bottle.
Sadly I will not be part of this journey going forward, but this is a very satisfying final chapter to ten years of building Corte Vetusto.
The experiences, the relationships and the support, however, are not forgotten. I’ll be back.
