Project Complete: ENGIE Chile‘s Los Loros BESS Successfully Delivered in Chile

ENGIE Chile‘s Los Loros Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), located in Tierra Amarilla in the Atacama Region, is now fully operational, with CJR Renewables successfully completing its Balance of Plant (BoP) scope.

With a capacity of 46 MW / 230 MWh, Los Loros plays an important role in strengthening grid flexibility and enabling greater integration of renewable energy by storing solar power generated during the day and making it available when it is needed most.

Project highlights:
✅ 48 MW / 275 MWh BESS
✅ 63 battery containers
✅ 378 Power Conversion Systems (PCS)
✅ 9 Power Blocks connected to a 23 kV MV switchgear
✅ Civil and electrical BoP works delivered by CJR Renewables

From complex logistics in the Atacama Desert to the coordination of multicultural teams, Los Loros was a project defined by resilience, collaboration and ex*****on excellence.

211.3 MW taking shape in Romania.

CJR Renewables continues to advance the Gurbanesti Wind Farm, a 211.3 MW wind project comprising 29 wind turbines, currently under construction in Romania.

Under a Balance of Plant (BoP) scope for GreenVolt, the project reflects our continued contribution to delivering large-scale renewable energy infrastructure across international markets.

This week, CJR Renewables joined Future Energy Summit Colombia 2026 in Bogotá, bringing together key players shaping the future of the country’s energy sector.

Represented by Raúl Pérez, Camila Rodríguez and Daniel Garrido, our team connected with developers, investors, utilities and industry partners to exchange perspectives on the evolution of the Colombian market and the opportunities ahead.

From utility-scale solar and BESS to hybrid projects, Colombia continues to open new opportunities for renewable energy development and investment.

For CJR Renewables, this journey is already underway. Our activity in the country began with the construction of the Windpeshi wind project for Enel Green Power, marking an important step in our presence in the Colombian market.

CJR Renewables was represented by its Executive Director, Nuno Carvalho, at the VIII Seminar in Lisbon, dedicated to the EU-Mercosur Agreement and its implications, challenges and opportunities across different sectors.

The seminar brought together senior institutional representatives, business leaders and experts to reflect on the evolving relationship between the European Union and Mercosur, with discussions covering the energy and digital transitions, global value chains, international cooperation and environmental challenges.
The event was attended by Maria da Graça Carvalho, Minister of Environment and Energy, Paulo Rangel, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Carlos Moedas, Mayor of Lisbon, alongside representatives from the institutional, diplomatic and business communities.
