🇬🇧 There are moments that remind us that life's greatest treasures cannot be bought. Picking fruit straight from the tree is one of those moments. Its flavour is richer, more authentic, but when that tree was planted by someone who is no longer with us, every piece of fruit carries an even deeper meaning.
As we reach out to pick a piece of fruit, we are not simply harvesting nature's gift. We are touching a legacy. Every branch, every leaf, and every fruit stand as a living testament to the care, hard work, and love of the person who planted that tree, hoping for the future without ever imagining that their presence would continue through it.
The people we love may leave this world, but some traces can never be erased by time. They live on in our memories, in the values they taught us, and in the trees they nurtured. And when we taste a piece of fruit freshly picked from its branches, it feels as though, for a brief moment, they are with us once again. The sweetness of the fruit blends with cherished memories, shared laughter, heartfelt conversations, and moments that will forever remain in our hearts.
There is something profoundly moving about realising that life continues to bear fruit long after the one who planted the seed is gone. It is as if nature itself has found a way to keep their presence alive, reminding us that a true legacy is not measured by what we leave behind, but by the love that continues to grow.
As long as that tree continues to stand, it will keep telling a story, the story of someone who no longer walks beside us, yet remains present in every season, every blossom, and every fruit it bears. Some people never truly leave us. They live on in the roots they planted, in the fruit that continues to grow, and in the love they cultivated for generations to come.
Frescas e boas !
