"Aproveitando o lançamento do nosso vinho, vou falar-vos um pouco deste projecto e a sua envolvente.
Antes demais, o meu nome é Miguel, sou o elemento mais novo desta familia e equipa, e sou responsável pelos vinhos e vinhas, e...faço um pouco de tudo. Produzimos vinho a partir das nossas vinhas, e todo o processo vinha-vinho é por nós gerido e cuidado, na nossa quinta.
Somos uma pequena empresa de cariz familiar, com raizes na viticultura do Douro Superior, desde o meu tetravô, ou seja, pelo menos à 100 anos. A ideia de produzir vinho tranquilo começou a surgir em 2012, até então a tradição era produção de Vinho do Porto e a venda das uvas.
Em 2013 demos o primeiro paço na produção de vinho tranquilo. Uma coisa muito pequena, como aliás ainda o é. Objectivo, traduzir a qualidade sensorial genuina das uvas no vinho, intervir de forma sensata e quanto baste na vinificação, para que o resultado seja expressivo do que nós temos para oferecer-vos (o que os Franceses denominam de "terroir") e das nossas escolhas na vinha como viticultores.
"O segredo está na vinha". Esta é para nós a arte de tudo (acreditem é mesmo uma arte). Trabalhar as vinhas durante o ano, saber escolher as uvas, as castas, o tempo certo de colheita, lotear, as diferenças entre as mesmas castas mas em condições diferentes, o equilibrio,... um mundo...
A vinificação para nós é uma combinação quimica natural e humana. Nós guiamos as nossas escolhas, com a matéria-prima que escolhemos, sem adicionar nada externo há matéria-prima, tirando no nosso caso o uso de sulfuroso quanto baste. O que quero dizer com isto é que não filtramos os vinhos, não usamos leveduras de fermentação comerciais, não usamos enzimas de extracção na fermentação, agentes de clarificação, etc..., e todo o trabalho na adega é fundamentalmente manual, desde a fermentação há garrafa. É uma escolha e atitude nossa.
Neste sentido este nosso primeiro vinho "Ouro da Vinha", é literalmente a tradução e resultado da nossa prática na vinha e na adega. Genuino, simples e com "alma". Uma produção pequena de menos de 2600 garrafas.

"Taking the opportunity of the launching of our wine i will talk a bit about this project.
My name is Miguel, im the youngest member of this family and team and im the person responsible for the wines and vineyards, and... i do a bit of everything. We produce wine from our own vineyards and all the process vine-wine is managed and taken care by us in our farm/"quinta".
We are a very small family owned-operated business with old roots in Douro Superior Viticulture, started by my great-great-grandfather, at least 100 years ago. The idea of producing a still wine came in about 2012, until then the tradition was producing Port Wine and selling grapes.
In 2013 we took the first step in the production of still wine. A very small production and still is in fact. The Objective, translate into our wine the genuine sensorial qualities of our grapes, intervene in a sensible manner and as needed in the vinification process, in order to get the most expressive result we have to offer you (what the french call "terroir") and our viticulture choices.
"The Secret is in the Vineyard". For us this is the art/heart of everything (believe us this is indeed an art). Working the vineyard during the year, knowing when and how to choose the grapes, select them, different behaviours between varieties and even in the same ones based on their diferent location, making the fermentation lot choices, trying to achieve some equilibrium, ... i mean a real world of possibilites...
Vinification for us is a combination of natural chemistry and human guidance. We guide our choices with the raw materials chosen, without adding anything foreign to the raw materials, with one exeption sulphur dioxide, and even then as needed. What i mean is we do not filtrate the wines, we do not use comercial yeasts in fermentation, we do not use exctraction enzymes, agents of clarification, etc... and all the labour in the winery is practically manual, from fermentation till the bottle. It is what it is, our own choice towards winemaking.
Along this our first wine, "Ouro da VInha", is literally the translation and result of our spirit and practice both in the vineyard and winery. Genuine, simple and with soul. A small production of less than 2600 bottles.
