My remarks if had attended the 81st United Nations General Assembly.

It is unacceptable that African nations continue to contribute troops to UN Security Council operations, yet remain excluded from the Council’s decision-making processes.

To overlook an entire continent of 54 sovereign states is a fundamental failure of representation.

As Africans, the time has come for us to be fully awake, assert our rightful place, and demand meaningful inclusion in global governance.
