👨🏻🌾✨Introducing Alnarp’s Farm Team ✨🌱
🤠 What is your name?
Olle Segestam🦦
🌍Where do you come from & what is your (educational) background?
I’m from Kungsbacka, Sweden
I have a bachelor in culinary science and worked as a chef for 8 years. I learned what an amazing power have, as a social oasis. I started to have more social interactions with local producers and that they are not highlighted and never get the support they need to enable us to sustain these experiences. I started to feel displaced in the restaurants and when the bar for what is considered sustainable cuisine became more and more important in my life I started to question it harshly. I truly love food and the social oasis, but when it so often originates from food systems that displaces people, our future and nature around us I couldn’t be apart of it anymore. Then I choose to study Agroecology in Alnarp to learn more about what to me gives hope to one day produce my own food and finally cook for my own social oasis.
🛠️What is your position at Alnarp’s Agroecology Farm?
I’m an intern since march and have loved every second of being in this community.
🪱What does agroecology mean to you?
Agroecology to me is a lifestyle, to learn how we can co-exist with our world and the beautiful nature - not only to produce food, but to create actual resilence, fairness and a system that favors all life rather then erroding it. Agroecology is the most hopeful way I have encountered to do so.
📝What is one of the learnings you had on the farm?
How good it feels to be a part of a lovely community that dreams of a similar world as me, and that is so inviting for everyone.
🫐What is your favorite plant to grow.
Gooseberries!
