Dinner at ✨ Atmosfär – A Michelin Guide Mentioned Restaurant in Malmö
Looking for a great dining experience in Malmö? Here's our review of Atmosfär, a restaurant known for its presence in the Michelin Guide and its win as Restaurant of the Year from Malmö City.
We kicked off the evening with some fresh oysters, served with lemon and shallot vinaigrette (180 kr for 6 pcs). The oysters were a hit – fresh, flavorful, and the perfect start to the meal.
However, the wait for the main course was disappointingly long – almost an hour, especially for those of us who didn't order starters. To make matters worse, tables seated after us received their food first, despite also ordering appetizers. At a Michelin-recommended establishment with a strong reputation, we expected much better service. While the waitstaff were friendly, the service felt a bit unorganized, with some diners at other tables receiving their mains at staggered times. Atmosfär needs to step up in this area to match its otherwise excellent reputation.
Now, let's talk about the food. For mains, we ordered the Halibut with tomatoes and rhubarb (265 kr), French fries with aioli (65 kr), and the standout Lobster soup with seared scallop, leek, and dill (235 kr). Fortunately, the food lived up to the restaurant’s name! The dishes were fresh, flavorful, and beautifully balanced.
However, given the prices, we felt that the halibut should come with a side (like fries) and perhaps some bread alongside the soup. Despite this, the overall dining experience was delicious, and we definitely recommend giving Atmosfär a try.
In summary: While the service needs improvement, the food is worth the wait and offers a delightful mix of flavors. If you're looking for a Michelin-approved restaurant in Malmö, Atmosfär is a good choice, but plan for a potentially long wait.
