Today's work was bringing all the cattle home and sorting off the cow-calf pairs with heifer calves over four months old. We don't want any unexpected surprises! 😉

This young lady was quite happy to stop and pose for the camera.

Pride 612– a full New Zealand-bred heifer by Ultra Rex 809 X Pride 388

She's only 5 months old, so there's still plenty of growing to do, but she's already showing the type we like. I'm fairly sure she'll be staying here.

🇪🇺 **We are proud to announce that Yxskaftkälens Angus is now an EU Approved Bovine Semen Collection Centre (Bull Stud)!** 🎉

After a great deal of hard work, planning and inspections we have officially achieved EU approval.
This milestone allows us to collect and process semen to EU export standards,
A huge thank you to everyone who has helped us with advice and support to get this far

This now means we can flush embryos with our own bulls that will be collected to export standards !!

Rain some sun and then more rain ! we have been lucky to have a friend of ours from the Netherlands here this week , he says its a holiday for him but for us its a huge help !
He is also a quite good drone pilot ! This is Yxskaftkälen ...

Most of the herd are out on grass now , so its a bit of riding round to check the groups, we have 4 stock bulls out this year and 30 cows in the AI group.
I know you shouldnt wish the time away but really looking forward to the calving season again , we hopefully have some exciting new lines coming.

We were way up north to Alterdalens to deliver their new stock bull Gordon 1118 ( Carsen Hardy ET x Greta 323 ET)
He was keen to get of the trailer after 6 hours driving!!
