Dear Food Rescue Gotland Community 🫶 it’s time for our final pop-up event before the summer break 🥲 Join us for an idyllic garden dinner next week Wednesday, perfect for an (non-alcoholic) AW gathering with colleagues and friends. Food will be sold until 7:00pm 🌸🌼☀️SPECIAL ⚠️ as some of you know, we had to close our refill store when we moved out of our previous location. At the pop-up event you now have the chance to stock up on staples such as pasta, lentils, rice etc. Bring your own jars, containers and bags and refill your storage for a small donation 🫙

🚨 Urgent: Our bike and trailer have been stolen AGAIN! 😡 This is the second time this has happened, despite double locking every time! 😔 We put so much effort into keeping our operations running smoothly, but we can't do it without our bikes and trailers. Please, please SHARE this post and contact us if you spot our bike or trailer in Visby! 🙏

With our tasty creations made out of rescued food, we raised a lot of interest in catering events and organizations, thank you so much for that! 😲 Please note that for the time being, without continuous kitchen access and storage we will not be able to cater HOWEVER we love,love,love our Pop-ups and you seem to do so too 🫶🫶 Keep an eye out for our next announcement, more deliciousness to come soon! 😋

Join our team for Monday pickups! We're seeking student volunteers willing to bike from Campus to Stora Coop and back, collecting surplus food. In exchange, volunteers enjoy complimentary food and priority selection from our haul. Join us in making a positive impact and being part of an incredible community effort to reduce food waste and save our planet!

Dear beloved community,

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the end of an era for our cherished community kitchen at Rindi. After a recent vote at a Rindi member meeting, Rindi has decided to end our collaboration, leaving us without a space to continue our mission.

While we respect the democratic process, this decision brings us great sadness. The closure means more than just the loss of a kitchen; it means less food saved from waste, fewer opportunities to provide healthy and affordable meals to our community, and a disconnect between students and locals that we worked so hard to bridge. It also means a loss of storage space and of our beloved zero waste shop, which we worked so hard to create.

But let us not dwell on the loss. Instead, let's raise a glass to all the beautiful moments we've shared in this kitchen: the laughter, the learning, and the delicious meals created together. Each memory is a testament to the spirit of this wonderful community.

Though this chapter may be closing, our journey is far from over. We remain hopeful that another space will soon allow us to continue our mission of sustainability, inclusivity, and delicious food.

Here's to new beginnings and the promise of brighter days ahead! 🌟
