Bangkok has always held a special place in my heart. Before Covid, it was almost a ritual for us to visit every few months. In the early days, we did what most tourists do — temple hopping, floating market visits, and ticking off attractions. But over the years, Bangkok slowly became more than a holiday destination. It became a place of comfort, familiarity, and countless family memories.

These days, a trip to Bangkok feels less like a vacation and more like spending a long weekend in a city that feels like a second home. Instead of strolling down Orchard Road, you’ll probably find us wandering through bustling markets, hidden alleys, neighbourhood cafes, and restaurants we’ve come to love over the years.

As a foodie, Thailand has always been one of my favourite culinary destinations. Whether it’s a humble plate of street-side Pad Kra Pao, a bowl of boat noodles by the roadside, or an elegant tasting menu in a fine dining restaurant, every dish tells a story. Thai cuisine has a way of balancing sweet, sour, salty, spicy and savoury flavours so effortlessly, creating dishes that are bold, vibrant and full of character.

These 40 photos capture just a small part of what keeps drawing me back — the flavours, the people, the memories, and the unmistakable spirit of Thailand. Every meal is different, yet every bite feels familiar. And that’s exactly why I keep returning.

If there’s one dessert worth making a trip for at Michelin-recognised Luk Kai Thong, it’s definitely the legendary Pang Cha.

Served in an impressively large bowl, this premium Thai tea dessert is easily big enough for 4 people to share. At first glance, it looks like a mountain of fluffy Thai milk tea shaved ice, generously topped with whipped cream, chewy pearls, crunchy almonds, crispy tea crumbs, and drizzled with fragrant Thai tea sauce.

Every spoonful is packed with layers of texture and flavour. The shaved ice is incredibly light and infused with the rich aroma of authentic Thai tea, while the toppings add a perfect balance of creaminess, crunch, and chewiness. Despite its size, it never feels overly heavy or sweet.

What makes Pang Cha so special is how it transforms a simple Thai milk tea into an indulgent dessert experience. It’s beautifully presented, packed with premium ingredients, and delivers the unmistakable flavours that have made it one of Bangkok’s most talked-about desserts.

Honestly, some people come to Luk Kai Thong for the food. I wouldn’t blame you if you came just for the Pang Cha.

A little piece of Japan has arrived in Tanjong Pagar.

A-Price Singapore, the first overseas outlet by TOHO Singapore, has officially opened its doors, bringing its philosophy of “contributing to society through food” to Singapore. Originally created as a cash-and-carry store serving the F&B industry, A-Price is now open to the public, giving everyone access to quality Japanese products at surprisingly competitive prices.

Think 1kg Japanese mayonnaise for just $8.80, fresh herbs from $2 per pack, and authentic Japanese-made creamy ice cream at $23 for a 2-litre tub. The Kyoto Grape flavour was an instant favourite — rich, creamy, and packed with fruity sweetness.

Coffee lovers can also look forward to TOHO Coffee, making its Singapore debut. Expect a robust and aromatic cup crafted from carefully selected beans, a taste familiar to many in Japan.

Beyond pantry essentials, you’ll also find live seafood, sashimi-grade seafood, frozen products, sauces, seasonings, and ingredients commonly used by restaurants and chefs.

Whether you’re a home cook, a Japanese food enthusiast, or simply love finding a good deal, A-Price feels like a hidden gem where authentic Japanese ingredients are more accessible than ever.

Grand Opening on 1 July 2026.

Pizza Street by Gordon Ramsay at Emsphere has a fun, lively vibe that’s perfect for a casual meal with friends after a day of shopping. The open kitchen, street-food-inspired concept, and energetic atmosphere make it an easy place to relax, share a few dishes, and enjoy good food without feeling too formal.

My favourite was the Londoner Pizza. Topped with mozzarella, tomato sauce, fennel salami, spicy nduja, and creamy burrata. The nduja is what truly sets this pizza apart. Originating from Southern Italy, nduja is a soft, spreadable spicy pork salami packed with deep savoury flavours and a gentle heat that slowly builds with every bite. It adds an incredible richness and complexity that you don’t often find on a pizza. Initially, I thought they are like our “lao gan ma”.

The Carbonara Pizza is a great choice if you enjoy creamy flavours, with mozzarella, carbonara sauce, cream, bacon, Parmigiano, and black pepper coming together like a comforting carbonara pasta on a pizza crust.

We also ordered the G.F.C Dirty Fries, loaded with crispy Gordon’s Fried Chicken, melted mozzarella, and their signature G.F.C sauce. Crunchy, cheesy, and seriously addictive.

If you’re looking for a casual spot with a great atmosphere, shareable comfort food, and a menu that’s a little different from your usual pizza place, Pizza Street is a fun stop while exploring Emsphere.

VIVIN’s Jambon Fromage Sandwich keeps things simple and delicious. Freshly baked artisanal baguette is layered with quality ham and cheese, creating a perfect balance of crisp, creamy, and savoury flavours in every bite.

INSANE CRAB FRIED RICE @ HERE HAI SIAM PARAGON

If there’s one thing I can never resist, it’s a good crab fried rice.

My hubby has been raving about Here Hai ever since he visited the original Ekkamai outlet, so when I spotted their branch at Siam Paragon, I knew I had to give it a try.

The famous Insane Crab Fried Rice certainly lives up to its name. Served with an incredibly generous amount of sweet, succulent crab meat, every spoonful was packed with flavour. The rice was fragrant, well-seasoned and carried that addictive wok-hey aroma that keeps you coming back for more.

Having heard so much about the original outlet, I couldn’t help but compare. While the Ekkamai branch is said to have a slightly stronger wok hei and a more authentic local dining atmosphere, the Siam Paragon version delivers remarkably well. The quality of the crab meat was excellent, the portions were generous, and the convenience of dining in the comfort of a shopping mall made the experience even more enjoyable.

What I loved most was that the dish lets the crab shine. No unnecessary frills, just fresh crab meat piled generously over perfectly fried rice. Simple, satisfying and absolutely delicious.

If you’re visiting Bangkok and craving seafood but don’t want to venture too far from the city centre, Here Hai at Siam Paragon is definitely worth adding to your food list.

Would I order it again? Without hesitation.

After all, when it comes to crab fried rice, the more crab, the better! 😋🦀

In a city where restaurants come and go, Thanying has remained in Singapore since 1988.

The moment you step inside, you’re transported to a different era. Many of its recipes are rooted in traditional Thai Royal Cuisine. Every ingredient is carefully selected, with freshness taking center stage in every dish. From aromatic herbs to seafood and produce prepared daily, every plate reflects a dedication to quality that you can taste.

The flavours are balanced, delicate and sophisticated- a reminder that true Thai cuisine is not just about spice, but about harmony.

Perhaps that’s why Thanying continues to stand the test of time. While others reinvent themselves to follow the latest trend, Thanying remains steadfast in preserving the traditions that made it special in the first place. It’s classic. It’s elegant. It’s the kind of restaurant that feels like old-world luxury - where quality, craftsmanship and authenticity will never go out of style.

Tonight’s feast begins with the Nam Prik Loong Rue - a rich shrimp paste, chilli, garlic and salted egg yolk dip served alongside fresh and crisp vegetables. A dish where the sauce steals the spotlight.

Yam Mamuang follows, bringing together green mango, prawns and roasted coconut in a vibrant harmony of sweet, sour and spice. Refreshing, yet unmistakably Thai.

A highlight of the evening is the Gaeng Ped Ped Yarng. Tender roasted duck in a fragrant red curry, balanced beautifully with the sweetness of lychee and the richness of traditional Thai spices.

Khaw Moo Yarng offers smoky grilled pork jowl, elevated by a classic Thai dipping sauce that perfectly complements every bite.

Pla Krapong Nueng Manao, steamed sea bass dressed in a bright lime and chilli sauce, where tanginess and spice exist in perfect balance.

And no Thai feast is complete without Khao Neow Mamuang - sweet mango paired with glutinous rice, a timeless dessert loved across generations.

Oh, they do have house made Iced Lemongrass Tea and Thai Milk Tea to complete the meal.
