Dignity Kitchen

Dignity Kitchen Project Dignity aims to restore dignity to the differently-abled and disadvantaged
(503)

An initiative conceptualised in 2006 and incorporated 4 years after, Dignity Kitchen is Singapore’s first social enterprise food court working with the disadvantaged and disabled offering quality food and service to the public. Our primary focus involving education and outreach forms the mission: To build and return dignity to the disadvantaged and disabled through vocation with passion. Dignity K

itchen’s educating efforts include using a functional food court as a training platform and a combination of innovative teaching methods to develop our students’ skill set. The interactive experience created by the dynamic environment between the public and our students allows for the enhancement of educational values. Our outreach activities aim to raise awareness among the general public of the challenges faced by the disadvantaged and elderly in Singapore. These events include ‘Lunch Treats for the Elderly’, ‘Hawker for the Day’, and ‘Working with the Disabled’ games. Since its inception, Dignity Kitchen has been recognised for its unique objective and dedicated efforts. Accolades received include the following:

2011
- Singapore National Employer Federation – Best Newcomer Award
2012
- Singapore Central Development Council – Merit award for notable contributions to the society
- Singapore National Employer Federation – Most Notable Award
2013
- World Street Food Congress – Best Street Social Enterprise Food Association/Group Award
2014
- SG Enable: Enabling Employers Awards - Leader
2022
- The World's 50 Best Restaurants 2022 – Champion of Change Award

Through the emphasis on productivity and employing innovative means to educate, Dignity Kitchen hopes to sustain itself as a training and development platform, engaging people from all walks of life and almost all disabilities, within a food court environment.

❤️ A Meaningful Sunday at Dignity Kitchen ❤️

Today, we were honoured to welcome the Singapore Teochew Lee Clan, a century-old organisation dedicated to serving and preserving the rich heritage of Singapore's Teochew community.

Members of all ages came together to pack meals for seniors from the Whampoa community and Lion Befrienders in Clementi. The day was filled with warmth and laughter as the clan's youth hosted a lively game of bingo, followed by a karaoke session with the elderly.

To round off the celebration, everyone enjoyed a lucky draw with ang bao prizes and received goodie bags to take home.

It was a wonderful Sunday when generations connected, friendships were built, and kindness was shared through simple acts of giving. Thank you, Singapore Teochew Lee Clan, for making the day so memorable! ❤️

Passion, skill, and heart — meet Brandon 👨‍🍳✨

Brandon graduated from ITE West with a Nitec in Asian Culinary Arts. Living with autism, he brings focus, dedication, and great talent to the kitchen — whipping up everything from local favourites like Hainanese Chicken Rice, Hokkien Mee and Ondeh Ondeh, to Tom Yam Soup, Bubor Cha Cha and Sushi.

In 2025, his father Richard reached out to Dignity Kitchen, and Brandon joined our Train-and-Place Programme. With the right support, he has grown in confidence and skill, proving that ability shines when given the chance.

Every step forward is a win, and behind this journey is a father’s love and belief.

💙 We would like to wish Brandon’s father Richard a very Happy Father’s Day!
