We have received so many messages from our friends, some neighbours who became friends, and some customers-turned-friends. Many shared encouraging words and supportive messages. Joey (towkay neo) and I are very grateful, and honestly a little embarrassed, that our little oyster cakes have managed to reach into the minds and stomachs of so many!
We want to sincerely thank everyone who has supported us throughout this journey. We feel incredibly blessed to have reached so many, and to hear how much love there is for our food. That is what Sixth Floor has always been about. We started by sharing this snack with our neighbours in the middle of the lockdown in 2020, and five years on, it’s heartening to see that the kampung spirit is still alive and well. 🥰
We were also pleasantly surprised that , , , and covered our closure. I didn’t think Sixth Floor was “that popular” (exhibit 1A: business so bad we are closing 😅). Yet suddenly, more people have been patronising our little shop these past few days. Because we didn’t prep enough ingredients, we even had to close early after selling out—happy news for us, but with a tinge of regret that we couldn’t serve everyone who came down specially to support us before our final day. To those we had to turn away, jin paiseh leh.
This week, please note that we only have one staff working on Wednesday and Thursday, so do bear with us if service is a little slower than usual. 🙇🏻🙇🏻♀️
On a separate note, many have asked if we’ll pivot back to being home-based after closure. We won’t be doing that, as we’re really looking forward to a much-needed break. Five years liao, I swear I aged ten years from the stress of running this business sia. Let us rest and recharge first… maybe in a couple of years my head flood with water I’ll try again. 🤣
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for being part of this journey with us. Whether you were a neighbour, a customer, or a friend (or all three!), your support made this adventure worthwhile. ❤️
