It has been too long! I often procrastinate smaller detail work because I find it tedious….additionally I started binge watching Ghosts on Netflix, and it was SO good I couldn’t even multitask with it on 👀 started making the roses for the bouquet, and it’s going to take some pushing and primpinh to get the roses to sit right.

Sewing arms on a piece has got to be my favourite part! This pattern is easier than others, because the arm is just one row of single crochet.

The glue gun left some gaps on her head, so I had to do some sewing. I think it’s time i bought those really long needles for sewing big amigurumi. I had to squeeze the head so tightly to get my little needle through.

I attached the hair onto the doll rather hastily, 15 minutes before I had to get ready to leave the house. I often hit a wall at this stage of making something, so when I felt the urge to do it, I did it quickly

The hair I made was too big 😭 trying it again this time. This is part and parcel of doing commissions. With personal projects, it doesn’t have to be perfect but commissions have to hold up under scrutiny.

More hair work today! Watching Ugly Betty really helps to pass the time while doing the 20 individual strands. I remember it being way more tedious!

Out of all the features of a doll, the hair has got to be the most tedious but rewarding one. I measured the hair several times against the doll to make sure the length is juuuust right. 👌🏼

Ahhhh it’s finally starting to take shape! I’ll get started on the details next. So excited to see it completed! Also, this is the first time I’m keeping track of how long I actually take for such a large piece. This is 4h50min in. 🤯

This custome crochet piece is maybe a third done, with the biggest pieces out of the way. I’m still on season 1 of Ugly Betty. Also the pacing of the show is top tier I didn’t realise they were 40min episodes until halfway through the season?? 🤣
