Very sad to hear about the passing of Ado Campeol. Known as “il papà del tiramisù - The Father of Tiramisù”. The creation of tiramisù was crafted after Mr Campeol’s restaurant’s chef dropped some mascarpone in an egg and sugar mix.
The chef, Roberto Linguanotto, mentioned it to Mr Campeol’s wife and after some trial and error, they came up with the dessert we know today as Tiramisù. The world’s first tiramisù is then known to have been first served by Mr Campeol’s restaurant.
The original tiramisù was made non alcoholic and with coffee. The picture above is Mr Ado Campeol and his wife - the creator of tiramisù. 🤍
