Farrer You Tiao started by my grandmother who came over from China and has since been passed down to my godfather.
I was a little hesitant posting this as age is catching up on them and sometimes they are already finding it hard to cope with the daily demands for their yummy doughsticks, ham hit peng and butterflies (my personal favourite!).
When asked if I could get them any machinery for automation and to help them cope with the high demand, he refused and said that it will not taste as nice with machines kneading the dough or fryers. So their preference is to do it the hard way and make as much as they can, while stocks last.
That's how Farrer You Tiao maintains their quality and consistency.
That said, do take some time to let them know they are doing a good job the next time you patronise us yah!
