I wish to share this with our fellow hawkers, restaurateurs or whoever run any kinds of business, there's always new tactics to scam you. I came over this yesterday. Luckily I spotted one or 2 red flags make me curious to investigate further. Normally I have no problem in refunding as I treat almost all my customers as friends. I placed high confident in quality of my foods but I do make mistakes sometimes and I put high trust on my customer words.
But first red flags is we never overpromised. We always mentioned curry chicken puff would spoiled if kept the next day as it CONTAINS COCONUT. Chilled it is not a guarantee but merely a suggestion if u wish to take the risks to prolong it shelf life. This lead me to question further for the price he/she paid. I offer the actual price and higher fake price. He felt for it, choose the higher fake price. So I said I would investigate and refund him tomorrow.
This morning he follow up with me for refund. By this time I almost completely sure it fake but there's still part of me which suggest just refund, end story and everyone happy. But I just want ask one more question which I should have ask from beginning, do you have receipt or proof you purchased from us? Paperbag, plastic bag or anything? He said no, thrown away.but shown me a photo of puffs that he half eaten. Yeah, it maybe be proof but I seen that photo before . That photo he took is from our Google archive. That totally exposed the scam and block me immediately.
So guys, please share this and helps protect each others, especially our more elderly fellows. I just lucky this time , but it is not hard to fall prey especially our business reputation is at stake.
