Day 2 of operations. We are so excited and thankful that many Muslim customers came down yesterday to support us, together with all our regular supporters who have been with us throughout the years.

More and more locals are beginning to understand the importance of preserving and continuing our hawker culture. Many from our generation often tell customers that if we do not continue this tradition, the next generation may only know foods like Mala Xiang Guo instead of our local hawker heritage. Deep down, we all understand this reality, yet many of us still slowly move away from heritage food because newer food trends seem more exciting or appealing.

May this movie show the challenges, struggles, and sacrifices behind preserving the legacy of our older generations. Support Annette’s movie, “Dream Stall”.

越来越多的新加坡人开始明白，延续本地小贩文化的重要性。我们这一代很多人都会告诉顾客，如果我们不继续传承下去，下一代以后可能只认识麻辣香锅，而不再了解属于新加坡的本地小贩美食文化。其实大家都明白这个道理，但很多时候，面对更新潮、味道更刺激的新食物，我们却慢慢放弃了传统老字号与本地传统美食。
