On a mission to rescue stuffed toys and memories!🧸💕✨

Big D came in in a tattered state, and honestly such conditions still scare us even after so many years. Because every toy is different, they are each considered a brand new challenge with no fixed method of doing their repairs, especially anything involving fabric replacement. Even if 2 separate individuals handed us 2 identical toys from the same manufacturing batch were with us, they still have their own unique features moulded through the many years of being their guardians, and we try our best to retain as much of the original features if possible. The only way forward for us is to be brave and try until it was possible, of course only if guardians are willing to take up the risks involved as well.

Custom embroidery itself already takes time with sourcing of thread colours, digital redesign and repeated testing, and the stakes are always exponentially higher if it involves any facial features. At the end of this, we were honestly just happy that Big D's guardian loved how he turned out, and that's all that mattered.

Monkey is almost 2 decades old, and received little cleaning during this time. He was admitted with browning all over him. Good news is that we were able to remove most of the dirt with deep cleaning, with the exception of some stubborn stains on his face that were still there no matter how much scrubbing was done.

But!! Monkey is still Monkey, and we think he looks amazing after!

Niuniu's cataracts and difficulty breathing were carefully corrected with hand embroidery to reinstate his eyes and missing nostrils. What do you think, doesn't he look amazing?🥹

Clothes aren't going to change the world, the bears who wear them will🧸👕

Despite Bear not undergoing any form of repairs himself, the new set of onesie seems to give him a slight lift and freshened look✨ Clothes tailored to fit clearly gives a more superior vibe!

Also, what a lucky bear to have clothes customized from the comfortable material to keep cool in this sweltering hot weather🍀

Ghuirrel's belly fabric was too damaged and thin for stitching only, so we recommended fabric replacement, to which his guardian agreed to. Unfortunately we weren't able to source for the exact striped fabric, but Ghuirrel's guardian was flexible with the fabric choices that we already had on hand (also to help speed up the process since material sourcing can take quite a while). Thankfully we had something that was suitable for Ghuirrel too, and we think he looks amazing!😍 No longer scrunched up from all the rubber ties tightly tying up his belly, he can stretch out fully now when lying down😊

We honestly had zero expectations of Migo regaining his original colour... but look at his beautiful cream colour!😍 Insane transformation that doesn't happen every day. We always tell customers that our deep cleaning process doesn't guarantee the complete removal of stubborn dirt. There can be many different factors that contribute to how stubborn stains can be, and every toy has a different material make up, so it's really unpredictable. And Migo turned out to be such a pleasant surprise, both for us and his guardian!

🧸 It's been a (loooooooong) while!
Stuffed Toys Hospital is officially opening more slots to the public again🎉 This time we're back with forms to help customers submit sufficient details of their toys, in order for us to provide a (one time good one) full assessment and quotation✨ I have actively kept track of all enquiries and should have gotten back to everyone. The last 1.5 years has been full of ups and downs. There was a lot of contemplation about continuing this line of work, re-spiraling with the classic "what the heck am I doing with a degree I worked so hard for", attempting and failing and succeeding in improving the flows to make the experience more pleasant for both customers and myself. I have hired and fired, learned and unlearned. Beat myself up and cried so much tears of fear amidst the uncertainty of life in general, but also experienced the bittersweetness of mini successes after failures. After much thought, I just couldn't see myself doing anything else.

I promise to go back to posting regularly. However this time, I want to be kinder to myself and give myself more space to breathe, while still continuing this work. Give myself the time to eat 3 meals well, take the time to exercise, read more. Having my customers tell me that they wish for me to continue too gives me hope that it will all work out as long as I push through a little more💪🏻

As usual, it's still a 1.5 person workforce here. We're trying our very bestest to save every toy admitted, while getting back to every single one of you. Please be kind and patient with us!❤️

Many of you whom have enquired with us through Whatsapp would have received this auto-reply. It's been almost 2 months since the closure of admissions, but those of you who have seen me during this time would know that I'm still collecting and returning stuffed patients till date, because they were booked for admission months ago.

Unfortunately, admissions will be closed until further notice. It's just another burn out phase, and I'll try to recover from this asap. That said, I have actively been labelling all of my Whatsapp chats that are still coming in. I will personally get back to every single one of you who have expressed interest in admission. Until then, your patience and understanding is very much appreciated.

Don't have any plans over this long NDP weekend?🥹 We got you covered!

Stuffed Toys Hospital is hosting a workshop in collaboration with My Community Festival 2025! This year's theme is "My First Journey", where we reflect on births and rebirths.

Please do bring:
• 1 plush toy per person, that is in good condition (not smelly, not dirty, not torn), 30cm length max.
• A pair of scissors.
• Mask to be worn when stuffing the toy.

Important:
• Must be comfortable with holding a needle and using sharp tools.
• Asthmatic individuals are encouraged to bring their inhaler.
• Age limit: at least 9 years old. Children below 9 years old must be accompanied by at least 1 adult to attend the workshop.
• No consultations will be entertained during the workshop.

Feifei is an emergency stuffed dog for his little owner (as evident from the Red Cross symbol he carries around🦸‍♂️), constantly healing his heart and soul😊 A little burn accident resulted in the formation of some small holes on his belly, that were hastily stitched up in an attempt to hold him together. Feifei underwent a simple Spa treatment at our hospital, and got the tears restitched - he looks as good as new now✨

We managed to get Feifei discharged on his little owner's 11th birthday in 2024, and we hope it made his day☺️
