Winning 3rd for social media and another 3rd prize for taste category has been a really surreal personal milestone, significantly also being 33 years old.
I would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge my heavenly Father (for creating me), my family (for sustaining me through good and bad times) , my church friends (old & young for heart felt prayers), friends (for great conversations), (for hosting and organising the whole competition). Congratulation to and for your win too. I hope to try your awesome macarons soon.
Story of MacaBon:
It was the third inspiration for this competition.
Trying all kinds of ingredients and chocolates…Ruby, Gold etc… spending a few hundred $ of my savings. So some will say.. why waste money on a competition you might never know can win? Honestly my mindset is not in for the prizes. I follow my heart and passion even though it is not very logical money wise.
A week before the competition dateline, I still had zero satisfaction with my experiments so I prayed to God for more wisdom.
Then when I was showering and meditating…an idea developed in my mind and as I got out of the shower, the concept was conceived.
I went straight to the kitchen follow up. Sometimes in life we don’t need many… we need 1 Good idea, 1 Good wife, 1 Good God.
Eventually the flavour I settled on was not French summer truffle but a more local angle of Indian Lassi, a local beverage.
Macabon also has a personal representation of Davids Pebble in the Bible, book of 1 Samuel. It represents the accuracy, timing, power, speed, confidence, readiness, overcoming and sovereign hand of God in times of darkness. May others find this God in their own way, own lives just like how I found mine through daily struggles and wins. TGBTG :)
