6th Avenue Wanton Mee It was until 1980, 阿嬷 set up her own humble hawker stall at 6th Avenue and 6th Avenue 云吞面 was born.

We serve traditional wanton noodles, a perfect combination of lean char siew, handmade wanton, springy egg noodle with a mixture of sauces and homemade chilli sauce. The roots of 6th Avenue 云吞面 (Wanton Mee) go as far back into the 1950s when 阿嬷 started to work as a stall assistant at a local wanton mee stall at the age of 11 years old. Until today, the stall is still managed by the 1st & 2nd gener

ation. For over the decades, We serve traditional wanton mee, soft and springy egg noodles tossed in our homemade chilli and sauces, topping up with lean char siew, caixin and complete with a bowl of tender and juicy wantons soup to give an overall rustic taste. We aim and have maintained the original taste of the traditional Wanton noodle just like the good old days. To cater to wider food choices, We also offer succulent handmade prawn dumpling, tender and flavourful braised pork ribs, chicken feet and mushrooms to complement with the noodles. For customers who prefer light and savoury taste, we offer Fresh-made yong tau fu which are collected daily from our trusted vendor. A regular customer shared a story of how Sixth Avenue used to be an old kampong with an open air cinema nearby. Hence, I decided to make into an art piece as a gift to him. Unfortunately there weren’t much references in the internet and could only ask the artist to freestyle.
This is the artist impression and I’m glad that he likes it 😊

Be it a 加料 (add on) to other noodles or a plate of mushroom noodles; our braised mushrooms are well liked by our customers.
To be exact, these Chinese Shiitake mushrooms are soak overnight and braised in the broth for long hours to achieve that rich flavour, chewy and succulent taste.

They are freshly made and collected from the wet market every morning, then paired with our QQ noodles. Isn’t it a perfect match?

Artist Impression of our Dumpling Noodles
The most common question asked: What’s the difference between Wanton (云吞) and Dumpling (水饺)?”
Wontons are smaller in size, with minced pork as the main ingredient. Dumplings are larger in size, more ingredients such as minced pork, prawns, mushrooms, carrots, turnips and etc. This gives the dumpling a plump look and added crunchiness.

Chicken feet are the least appealing of all chicken parts. You agree?
Our braised chicken feet take long hours to simmer to have its tenderised taste. Submerged into the braised broth to achieve that gelatinous result which melts in your mouth. Coupled with 101% TLC to ensure that the flesh and skin are not wiped off during the simmering.
Chicken feet is my favourite and is a must to go with my wanton mee.

What do you think about this artist impression?
It’s not about how nice it looks, more about how one appreciates it. Eg, the overall impression, how the colours present and the style of the artist etc.
Just like a plate of wanton noodles, everyone has their own preference.
I prefer mee kia with 3 spoonfuls of chilli and without wanton. While other may prefers mee pok with fatty charsiew and black sauce.

Jokes aside. This is to reduce food wastage and over-ordering. Nevertheless, do rmb to tabao your leftover if you cannot finish. Ask for a takeaway bag, nothing to be paiseh about! The most kanna niao by the Auntie for over ordering 🤣🤣
