Became popular in the Hari Raya Puasa Bazaar at Geylang Serai old taxi stand back in the 90s. Due to COVID 19, all pasar malam have been suspended. Thereafter, we have finally managed to open 3 outlets. Our mum, Mdm Rani was the one who took the effort to bring this vadai to the Geylang Serai bazaar and it became popular among the Malay community first. Though Facing so much challenges n discouragement, she did not give up. Today, this snack is popular among all. Crispy, mouth watering prawn embedded on fluffy n flavourful dough shaped like doughnuts, this Famous local delicacy, The Original Prawn Vadai is best eaten when hot with fresh green chillies. We can proudly say that this snack is a Singapore fusion dish. Can’t find it in India or even Malaysia.

Over the past few weeks, many of you have been asking us what is happening with The Original Vadai.

The truth is, the market has changed. Costs have gone up, customer expectations have changed, and like many local businesses, we've had to rethink our strategy.

But let me make one thing very clear...

The Original Vadai is NOT closing for good.

This is simply a time for us to regroup, improve, and come back stronger.

I'm taking this opportunity to go back to what built this brand in the first place—great food, genuine service, and consistency. We hear every compliment and every complaint, and we're committed to earning your trust again.

The journey hasn't been easy, but giving up has never been an option.

And here's the exciting part...

We're proud to announce that The Original Vadai will soon be opening at PARC Point @ Tengah! 🎉

This new outlet is another step forward for us, and we can't wait to serve the Tengah community with the quality and taste that made so many of you fall in love with our vadai.

To everyone who has stood by us through the highs and the lows, thank you. Your support means everything.
