Derek Lee, a pioneer in the wine industry in Singapore for more than 20 years. He left Seagram and started Grand Vin Pte Ltd in 1996. He launched his operation in Singapore after more than 20 years of service as a wine specialist with prestigious brands like Domaine de la Romanee Conti, Domaines Barons de Rothschild (Lafite), E.Guigal, Domaine Leflaive. As of 2011, Grand Vin holds multiple exclusive wine agencies and continue to grow its portfolio with prestigious fine wines. Grand Vin continued to grow over the years by successfully acquiring new fine wine brands such as Jean-Pierre Moueix, Champagne Louis Roederer, Domaine Ponsot, Domaine Faiveley, Pio Cesare, Domaines Schlumberger, Schlossgut Diel, Dominus Estate and many others. Grand Vin’s success can be credited to its dedicated and dynamic team. Typically for a Pauillac w**e, Cabernets predominate in the blend. However, the relatively high proportion of Cabernet Franc is a hallmark of Château d’Armailhac.

The w**e is defined by a kind of elegant classicism, discernible whatever the vintage. The tannic structure is both robust and refined, providing a perfect foil for a complex array of aromas and flavours which continue to expand and emerge over time, with consistently forward fruit and typical lead pencil notes. Château d’Armailhac has considerable ageing potential but may also be enjoyed young. It is a perfect illustration of the Pauillac style, combining all the features of a great w**e while remaining approachable.

Monte Vacano is Robert Weil’s ultra-rare, single-parcel dry Riesling from the steepest, most mineral section of the Kiedrich Gräfenberg. It is produced only in exceptional vintages in tiny quantities (often just over 1,000 bottles plus magnums). Sourced from the “Lay” plot with phyllite/quartzite soils, it delivers a distinctly flinty, crystalline profile: full-bodied and dense yet precise, with ripe but fine acidity, noticeable phenolics, and a long, saline, mineral finish. It is the ultimate collector’s Riesling and a prestige pour for fine-dining and gifting.
