One of our final and most meaningful evenings at 5 Senses. ❤️

On 3 August, we had the honour of welcoming the participants of the DBS Foundation x SUSS Asia Reminiscence Forum 2026 to 5 Senses for dinner and an Inclusive Dining Experience.

As we prepare to close this chapter of our café / restaurant, this felt like a fitting last hurrah- sharing the work that has become so close to our hearts with people who care deeply about ageing, dignity, and inclusion.

Participants had the opportunity to experience our inclusive dining menu, including IDDSI Level 7 Easy-to-Chew Fish Cake Hor Fun and IDDSI Level 4 Hainanese Kaya Toast. It was heartening to see so many meaningful conversations take place around the table, reminding us that food has the power to connect people across generations and abilities.

A very special thank you to DBS Foundation and SUSS; especially to Dr Carol Ma, for organising such a thoughtful and impactful forum. Your vision and leadership have been instrumental in advancing inclusive dining in Singapore, and we are deeply grateful for the opportunity to be part of this journey.

This may be one of our final events in this space, but it is certainly not the end of our mission. We remain committed to making dining more inclusive, one meal and one conversation at a time.

To our dear 5 Senses family,

As we prepare to close the doors to our current home, we wanted to say thank you in the best way we know how- by sharing a meal with the people who have supported us throughout this journey.

There are no vouchers, no reservations, and no minimum spend. Simply come by, enjoy a meal, and celebrate the memories we've created together.

From first-time guests to regulars who became friends, every visit, every conversation, and every word of encouragement has meant the world to us. You didn't just support a restaurant- you believed in a family, a dream, and a mission to bring people together through food.

If you've ever wanted to visit us one more time, we'd love to see you. Come have one last meal, share a laugh, reminisce with us, and help us close this chapter with grateful hearts.

While the buffet is our way of saying thank you, if you feel moved to support us further, any tips are warmly welcomed and deeply appreciated. Your kindness will help us as we begin the next chapter of our journey.

This may be goodbye to this space, but it is not goodbye to 5 Senses. Our mission of bringing people together through inclusive dining, community, and meaningful hospitality will continue.

The future of ageing well starts with conversations- and a shared meal. 🍽️

Two weeks ago, we had the privilege of hosting the Gerontech Ambassadors from SGAssist at 5 Senses for an afternoon of learning, sharing, and experiencing inclusive dining.

A special thank you to Dr Carol Ma from SUSS for joining us and for her continued leadership in advancing inclusive dining in Singapore. Her passion for bringing together healthcare, academia, and industry has been instrumental in moving this initiative forward.

During the session, I had the opportunity to share my personal journey into inclusive dining in a fireside chat with Adrian from SGAssist- how one experience changed the way I saw food, ageing, and the role hospitality can play in preserving dignity.

The ambassadors also experienced our inclusive dining menu through a live demonstration of our IDDSI Level 4 Kaya Toast, followed by a tasting of our Level 7 Hor Fun and Level 6 Hokkien Mee.

Seeing familiar local favourites transformed into safe, enjoyable meals reminded us that inclusive dining is about more than texture-modified food.

It's about keeping families together, preserving culture, and ensuring that everyone has a place at the table.

Thank you to Dr Carol Ma, Adrian, the SGAssist team, and all the Gerontech Ambassadors for spending the afternoon with us. We look forward to many more collaborations as we work towards a more inclusive Singapore.

❤️ One Door Closes. A Bigger Mission Begins.

To our beloved 5 Senses family,

After 2 years of serving our community, we will be closing our current premises on 31 July 2026.

This decision was not made lightly.

Within these walls, we have celebrated birthdays, anniversaries, reunions, first meetings, and countless conversations over coffee and meals. What began as a family dream became something far greater because of you - our customers, partners, supporters, friends, and community.

Every meal shared, every encouraging word, and every familiar face helped shape the story of 5 Senses.

But while this chapter is coming to an end, our story is far from over.

In fact, we believe our most meaningful work is only just beginning.

From the beginning, 5 Senses was never simply about serving food. It was about bringing people together. It was about creating a place where families could gather, where seniors could feel included, where conversations could flourish, and where everyone had a seat at the table.

As we move forward, that mission becomes even stronger.

Continuing our work to make dining more accessible, meaningful, and welcoming for seniors, caregivers, and the wider community.

🔍 Searching for a New Home
We're actively looking for a space where our vision of inclusive dining and community connection can continue to grow.

🚚 Food Delivery
Selected 5 Senses favourites will continue to be available through delivery platforms.

☕ Our Coffee Lives On
Our signature 5 Senses Coffee will remain available in whole bean and ground formats.

🎉 Catering & Coffee Live Stations
From 2027, we'll be bringing the 5 Senses experience directly to homes, workplaces, corporate events, and community gatherings.

Before we close our doors, we hope you'll visit us one more time. We'd love the opportunity to personally thank you for being part of this incredible journey.

This location may be closing, but our mission is only getting started.

The best chapters are still ahead. ❤️

Today, seeing 5 Senses Café & Restaurant featured in Longitude Magazine is more than a milestone for us. It’s a reminder of how far a shared dream, built on family, heritage, and perseverance, can go.

From my father’s journey in coffee to the meals we serve today, every plate carries a story - of resilience, of culture, and of connection across generations.
