CatLiz started recently when I was diagnosed to be intolerant to 9 (!) food groups, including wheat-gluten, egg, dairy and soy. Now, imagine what problems this pose in Asian Singapore. Now, I live for food and I love my sweets, so this depressed me. You have no idea. Try finding ready-made, affordable, good quality and great tasting food that is sans wheat-gluten, egg, dairy, soy, gi
nger, peanut, crustaceans (eg prawns), mollusks (eg clams) and vanilla bean. Out of sheer desperation to attain a somewhat similar quality of life prior diagnosis, I was forced to bake (and cook) for myself. That’s how I got into baking, because I love my morning bread and muffins and cakes. My unflinching guinea pigs suggested that I bring that spot of baked treat happiness to my fellow intoleriacs, while also making ‘normal’ stuff that they would be happy to eat more of.
