Wow Wow West Genuine started in 1999, at Raffles Institution. The name was put together by students who took part in a contest to name the various canteen stalls. Our Founders- Mr Eric Ng & Ms Kathy Yu liked the name so much and kept it till today. Wow Wow West Genuine has become, with your support, a household name. ecipe. We serve big portions of irresistible western food at reasonable prices. Mr Ng is an enthusiastic advocate of the Yellow Ribbon Project which aims to integrate ex-convicts back into society. He volunteers part-time at Breakthrough Missions, a halfway house, on top of running Wow Wow West Genuine. The shop is run with the help of family members and friends, dishing out hundreds of various western dishes throughout the day. Especially towards the weekends and eve of holidays, the snaking queues increases steadily amidst the consistent reminders for customers to pick up their orders from the stall front. Business volume has increased over the years with exposure to both print and visual media, namely, The Straits Times and 银色嘉年华小贩当家 on Channel 8.
