Delivering Hope and Safe Drinking Water to Sumatra 💧🤝

The recent disasters in Sumatra have deeply impacted the local communities, but they have also united us in compassion and resilience. We are profoundly grateful to be able to stand together and extend our support to those in need.

Through the incredible collaboration and donations from the charity concert 100 Musisi – Heal Sumatra x ILUNI x BTN x PLN, we successfully delivered aid to the affected communities in Jamur Konyel Village, Bintang District, Central Aceh Regency, Indonesia.

During disaster relief operations, access to safe and clean drinking water is the most critical challenge. To address this, our initiative includes the deployment of the ROAMFILTER PLUS by Wateroam. This highly efficient, portable water filtration system is built for emergency response, ensuring that disaster victims have immediate access to safe, drinkable water without relying on complex infrastructure.

We extend our deepest gratitude to all donors and specifically thank PLN Peduli and Bank BTN for their generosity and care. We hope this initiative helps ease the burden on the affected families and brings blessings to everyone involved.

Together, we rebuild and heal Sumatra! 🇮🇩

Is clean water always a given, even during Christmas season? We want that to be true; in fact all year round!

Witnessing clean water flow in places that was once contaminated is powerful, but seeing the collective effort behind it is truly humbling! This journey was made possible because of an incredible team.

Our deepest gratitude goes to the Zayed Sustainability Prize for championing sustainable innovation, and to Indigo Traveller for telling this story with such raw authenticity on the Myanmar/Thailand border. 🌏

A massive shoutout to our partners on the ground, Safe Water for Every Child. You are the quiet champions making this happen daily. It’s inspiring to see local leaders pulling others up and helping families, one glass of safe water at a time.

Finally, a huge well done to our very own Mengyuan and Kai. You represented the Wateroam mission perfectly, showing the world how technology meets humanity in real-time. đź’§

Severe flooding in Aceh, West Sumatra and North Sumatra has left deep scars across communities in Sumatra.

According to the latest data from Indonesia’s National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) as of Friday, 5 December 2025 (09:47 WIB), the floods have resulted in:

836 lives lost
509 people still missing
Around 2,700 injured
Around 10,500 homes damaged
51 districts affected

In addition to the human toll, the disaster has also caused widespread damage to critical infrastructure – including houses, bridges, schools, public facilities, health centres, offices and places of worship.

We extend our deepest condolences to all the victims and the families who have been left behind by the floods in Sumatra. May those who have passed rest in peace, may their families be given strength, and may survivors be supported through their recovery.

As Wateroam, we stand in solidarity with the affected communities and with all responders working tirelessly on the ground. Let us continue to pray, share accurate information, and help one another in any way we can.

On the Thai–Myanmar border, migrant students are becoming guardians of their own water.
At Thoo Mweh Khee Migrant Learning Centre, young leaders help maintain a filtration system that turns murky, unsafe water into safe drinking water for more than 3,000 students and teachers every day.

Through partners like Safe Water for Every Child Myanmar, Wateroam’s portable filtration solutions are supporting community-led efforts to bring safe, affordable drinking water to vulnerable families across the region. Technology alone is not enough – training, ownership and local champions make the real difference.

Wateroam had an inspiring time at the SINGAPORE–INTERNATIONAL DISASTER & EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT EXPO 2025 (SIDEX 2025) ! 💧✨

Over three days at Singapore Expo Hall 3, Booth C13, we connected with disaster response agencies, humanitarian organisations, and solution providers who are all working towards the same goal: "building safer, more resilient communities."

- Our portable water filtration systems in action, designed to deliver safe drinking water within minutes during emergencies.
- Our special co-exhibit with WOTA (Japan), showcasing their circular water reuse system, a breakthrough for water sustainability in crisis and off-grid settings.
- Meaningful conversations with partners and practitioners on how to rapidly deploy reliable water access in the field.

A huge thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth, shared your challenges, and explored collaboration opportunities with us. 🙌

If you’d like to continue the conversation or arrange a demo for your team, DM us or reach out to our Wateroam team directly—we’d love to support your next deployment.

Celebrating encouraging news from Central Kalimantan (Indonesia) ! 🌏💧

Wilmar Central Kalimantan (Kalteng) has relaunched its clean water program for surrounding villages and schools in Kotawaringin Timur (Kotim), bringing practical, long-term solutions to communities that have struggled for years with limited access to safe drinking water. Through hands-on filtration training and the distribution of portable water filters, schools like SDN 1 Pantap in Desa Pantap are now one big step closer to providing truly safe water for their students and teachers — not just in the rainy season, but all year round.

This CSR effort goes beyond health. By supporting MSMEs and mentoring local women in fish product processing, the program is also helping to strengthen local livelihoods and create sustainable economic opportunities. It’s a powerful example of how clean water, public health, and community income can grow together.

We deeply appreciate everyone who made this possible and worked so hard on the ground — Loh Koon Wai (Plantation Head, Wilmar Kalteng), Widiyanto Wiwid (CSR Manager, Wilmar Central Kalimantan Project), Ahmad Muzakir (Principal, SDN 1 Pantap), dr. Noorliyana (Head of Public Health, Kotim Health Office), Herry Subrata, SIKom (Village Head, Sembuluh One), women’s groups from PKK and local MSMEs, partners at STC Mustika Sembuluh and community leaders across Kotim, as well as the team driving the clean water filtration solutions: Vincent Loka (Co-Founder & Chief Technical Officer), Aditya Widjanarko (General Manager), Jimmy Nadapdap (Senior Advisor), and Libertinus Lase (Production Manager).

Your dedication, late nights, field visits, and problem-solving mindset are turning clean water access from a challenge into a reality for children and families. This is exciting progress — and a proud milestone for everyone involved in this journey. 💙💧
