Mr. Abdisataar Carabow, a Bisha Cagaaran volunteer, planted a tree in front of Hiddosor Restaurant.

This tree will contribute to cleaner air, provide fresh oxygen, reduce dust, and benefit many people in the community.

Mr. Abdisataar Carabow encourages more people to step forward and plant at least one tree in front of their businesses.

Such efforts will help make the town greener, cooler, and healthier for everyone.

The country's native plants, such as Maygaag, have been severely affected by deforestation.

They are now often difficult to find in the wild.

It is our responsibility to protect and restore the country's native plant species.

Somalia once had much richer and more visible plant life than many people see today.

Large parts of the country supported acacia woodlands, frankincense trees, flowering shrubs, grasses, and seasonal wildflowers, especially after rains.

Areas in the north and along rivers in the south were known for their natural beauty and biodiversity.

Today, much of this flora has declined because of several environmental problems, especially deforestation.

Trees have been cut for charcoal production, construction, and fuel.

Repeated droughts, overgrazing, and climate change have also damaged the land.

As forests disappear, many native flowers and plants become rare or difficult to find.

Bisha Cagaaran has carried out an initiative to promote soursop, which has declined in Somalia in recent years.

Soursop has been affected by deforestation and other environmental factors. As a result, it has become difficult to find the fruit in markets across Somalia.

In April 2026, Bisha Cagaaran planted 5,756 soursop seeds as part of its initiative.

Some of the soursop plants are being cultivated locally, while others have been donated to the community.

These soursop fruits will contribute to food security.
