Quality has many sides at BRITA – from carefully selecting the raw materials and suppliers to constantly managing and controlling all development, production and transportation processes which include associated rules on hygiene, through to developing, selecting and monitoring suitable suppliers. We work exclusively with those partners who are capable of meeting BRITA's strict requirements on a permanent basis. Filter cartridges, raw materials and end products are verified and tested on a continuous basis in accordance with defined quality requirements and are also inspected by independent bodies in order to guarantee the high quality of BRITA products. Both internal as well as external audits reveal that we go well beyond the statutory requirements which are already high. The renowned TÜV SÜD test institute inspects BRITA filter cartridges along with the overall water filter system on a regular basis and certifies its food grade quality. Furthermore BRITA products meet some of the most demanding standards including those of the Research Centre (WRC) in the UK, the National Sanitation Foundation (NSF) in the USA and the Swiss Association for the Gas and Water Industry (SVGW). Compliance with internationally recognised standards DIN EN ISO 9001 (Quality Management), OHSAS 18001 (Occupational Health and Safety) and ISO 14001 (Environmental Management) demonstrates the high quality demands that BRITA sets for itself and also meets for the benefit of its customers, employees and the environment. Compliance with these standards is reviewed and certified regularly by an independent body.
