For me, one of the highlights is all the unexpected discussion that comes up over the 4 weeks ☺️💬

I also love the suggestions participants give to one another. We tasted a very astringent tea, and to counter that, someone suggested chasing the tea with juicy cherries. It worked like a charm! 🍒

Tasting is so individual and shaped by our own reference points - how we interpret flavor, the cuisines we grew up with, the memories we associate with certain aromas.

I love getting a glimpse into people's worlds this way. There's such range in what we experience, and all of it is equally valid. I don't believe tasting notes need to strictly follow one universal standard.

This is what I hope the system gives you: enough structure to guide you, while still leaving room for your individuality. If you'd like to learn tea this way, the next tea tasting journey begins August 30, with a cohort of 6.

What happens when you spend 4 weeks learning to taste tea more intentionally? 🍵

I created this Tea Tasting Journey to help you slow down, notice more, understand what you’re tasting, and gradually build trust in your own palate. After running it twice with small groups, I’m excited to bring it to another group this August.

Over 4 weeks, we’ll move from noticing what’s in your cup, to comparing teas, exploring quality, and finally bringing it all together. Along the way, you’ll have optional tasting exercises to practice in your own time, and I’ll be there to support you throughout.
