Upgrading the surroundings... after nearly 25years its nice to see something new....

It is nice to see that the mahogany trees we planted a few years back are starting to produce "fruits". It is a very woody, capsule-like fruit that can grow up to 40cm. Also known as "sky fruits" due to their upwards orientation on the trees. This fruit is not normally for eating, but has usage in traditional medicine for their astringent and antipyretic properties as well as anticoagulant, antioxidant, antimicrobial and antidiabetic effects.

The fruit is sold commercially in powder form and capsules to boost immunity, control blood sugar, lower cholesterol and increase appetite, and interesting enough it is also used as natural mosquito repellent and the seeds inside are also used in the skincare industry for their anti-aging, photoprotective etc. properties.

More importantly for us, it contains the winged seedlings that we will use for growing more trees or to sell locally....
