Soft Croissants
Ingredients
2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
2 tbsp sugar
1 tsp salt
2 tsp instant yeast
¾ cup warm milk
2 tbsp butter (softened)
100 g cold butter (for layering)
1 egg (for brushing)
Instructions
Mix flour, sugar, salt, yeast, and warm milk. Knead into a soft dough. Add butter and knead until smooth.
Cover and let rise for 1 hour.
Roll dough into a rectangle. Place cold butter in the center, fold edges over it, and roll again. Fold into thirds. Chill 30 minutes. Repeat folding twice more.
Roll dough into a large circle and cut into triangles.
Roll each triangle from base to tip to form croissants.
Place on tray, cover, and rest 45 minutes.
Brush with beaten egg. Bake at 190°C (375°F) for 15–18 minutes until golden.
