Papillon a été créée en 1993 par la société SOBOCO, alias Confiserie des Aghlabites, à Kairouan. La SOBOCO est une entreprise tunisienne spécialisée dans la fabrication de confiserie de sucre (bonbons) et de Halwa Chamia sous la marque Papillon.
