Brewee told me I hadn’t been here but we recognized it as soon as we walked in, so I must’ve forgotten to record it. I remember the beers being decent but the vibe not being great. Same today. I recognize most of the same regulars as last year when I was here. We’ll be one and done. Good music playing but volume up on the baseball game is pretty annoying to listen to over the music. When I’m watching a game at home I listen to music and turn off the chattering heads so I definitely don’t come to a bar to hear them. Shares a space with Craft Beer Cellar so there are other brands to purchase here as well.

Each of my stops today are around 30 minutes drive from each other, so 30 minutes later I’m in Waller. Good size taproom with a dedicated stage area. A sign on the wall says one of my favorites ever, Dub Miller is playing here two weeks from today. I’ll be back for that!

Good size interior with lots of picnic table style seating and 10 more at the bar. Americana decor. Good number of beers on tap to suit most tastes and wine for those who don’t like beer. Music playing at a reasonable volume for added ambiance. I would swear the building was a former car dealer showroom based on the layout but a sign says it was a grocery store.

Second stop, this one is in downtown Bellville very near the courthouse. Cool old building that was once likely a general store. Music playing lightly and we opted to sit in the back where we could hear it better since there’s a large group of ladies all dressed in yellow sitting up front who are having a good time. Haha! Can’t go upstairs here, and it’s like one of those places you know there’s a creepy table set up with life size dolls having a tea party covered in 2” of dust. 😳🤣

Cool stop with pretty good beers if you’re in the area.

Trying a few on the west end of the Houston area today I haven’t tried before. This one is highly rated and only open on Saturdays from 12-5, so I’ve missed it a couple other times while driving through the area.

Y’all know I think hazy IPAs are a fad and they don’t have any regular IPAs, so this may not be my style of brewery. We’ll see!

Relatively crowded for a small place, so we needed to sit outside. It’s cloudy and breezy now, at 88 degrees and 69% humidity, so not terrible. Not sure if it’s typical but they had some tables set up selling smoked brisket fried rice and spring rolls. Some music playing outside, but could probably be a bit louder, as you feel very disconnected from the rest of the taproom when sitting outside. It also started raining while we were outside and we had to duck inside and stand by the door to finish my flight. The music inside definitely needed to be louder, as you can’t even hear it when the AC is on, which is most of the time.

I had told the nice lady serving it was our first time here and a bit later she brought us a free can to take with us. I think she took pity on us for standing inside by the back door while it was raining and she exchanged out the one can for a 4-pack of different beers to take with us. Awesome, friendly service and a very kind gesture. I’d definitely come back and interested in trying some other beers here in the future.

Last day they are open so I had to come to wish them well! For me, it’s a neighborhood brewery since I live on the same street they are on. I’ll definitely miss them and hope all the great folks working here have amazing jobs lined up and looking forward to what the owners have in store next, and that their beers are included in that plan.

The top rated brewery in all of NM, La Cumbre is known for their IPAs. Yes, please! Seating for around 100 inside and out. I’m outside because it’s 82 and sunny with no humidity. Music playing for ambiance but should be a bit louder IMO.

I’m at the ABQ OG now…the oldest operating craft brewery, founded in 1994 at a pizza restaurant. Live music today and it’s packed! Talked a cool guy into a chair at his table inside the roll up garage door, just 20 feet from the band playing outside. Older crowd, but not a typical yuppy brewery crowd. I could see myself being a regular here if I lived nearby.

Downsides - No flights today because a band is playing. It wasn’t busy at the bar since they have a lot of staff, so this is a one star deduction for me, as always. Also, they have a (I’m told) strict 3 beer limit. I’m only on #2 as I’m typing so we’ll see if that’s true, but a huge turnoff for people with high tolerance and not driving (I’m Ubering this entire trip). If 3 is strict and I get told no, that’ll be another star off (especially since they don’t have flights, ordering full beers is the only way to try their selection). Other than these two major negatives, this place would be a 🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺.

First stop of the day after some great New Mexican food for lunch. I love the green chile style of Mexican cooking almost as much as the jalapeño/habanero Tex-Mex style.

Flock of Moons is very near UNM, and this is a trendy area (University Heights / Nob Hill) with a cool, trendy vibe with lots of restaurants, shops and bars. Seating for around 60 inside and probably 100 outside. It’s a bit warm today, though very low humidity here at 5200 feet above sea level (similar to Denver), so I opted to sit inside. Music playing at a good volume for ambiance, though it’s pretty empty in here right now…probably only a dozen people here, with half sitting outside. No food here, but they give a QR code menu for restaurants in the local area and welcome food brought in.

The beers were pretty basic here, nothing extraordinary but worth the stop if you’re in the area. I’ll say, though, their restroom was immaculate. They’re the Buccee’s of breweries. 😎
