I've heard a cure for osteoarthritis is possible. In the Caribbean, women of Indo Caribbean descent are more prone to 'bad knees' and 'hot flashes'.

I paid a heavy price after Carnival 2025 but I also know that lack of estrogen continues to affect all my joints.🦵🦴

This entire month I attended Women's Health seminars. We all need to get on-board with preventative care. Especially pre- menopause.

Name me a Caribbean woman who doesn't like to jump and shake their b***y. Even if it's in church 😉😉😉

A Mediterranean diet and lifestyle is anti-inflammatory and so easy. I think it's done me a world of good now in mid-life.

Anyone else love that IG influencer Maddie who says things like 'I eat more than your man' as she ploughs into a plate???

Well, Maddie is on point about caloric restriction.
LADIES, you need to feel good when you eat.

You need to feel full, not stuffed.
You want veggies, protein, complex carbs (so, that actually means more veggies)

Don't complicate it. Roasted squash, roasted cabbage, sweet potatoes 🥔 beans. These all mean you stay full and you get masses of
Micronutrients.

You know those all-day events with all-day pastry boxes being given out???

Anyways, I decided in advance...I just couldn't do an all day refined dough-day.

This Viral Carrot salad is amaze. And...after three ladies asked about it..I had a little fan club going for Women's Day.

Viral Carrot Salad

2 medium carrots
1 inch ginger grated
2 tsp light soy or tamari sauce
2 tsp good sesame oil
1 tbsp olive oil
2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
1 tsp fresh lime juice
Cilantro or Culantro (optional)
1/2 tsp grated garlic
Salt.

The best results is with a Y-peeler. It's a veggie peeler with the wide blade. You will get lovely, long Carrot ribbons like this.
Mix the entire bowl of ingredients.

Add toasted sesame on top at the end. It just gets better the next day.

Besides tasting fantastic, this is antioxidant rich, and cilantro is a strong detoxify as well.

It smells amazing, tastes even better.

If you swing between food restrictions and bingeing you might have an issue with 'food noise'..

It's a brain/body disconnection that's made worse with stress. You keep thinking about food and swing between guilt and validating the bingeing.

I'm not an advocate for GLP 1 meds, but it's interesting how patients using them speak about a 'quietening' down about hunger noise. Fixing 'root-cause' issues requires some work. Finding out what were positives around food and what were negatives as a child.

If you want a healthy relationship with food, you really need to do this work.

I genuinely love my life 💓 but I'm forever convinced it's somehow going to get easier every year. And ....it rarely has.

Take some time to reflect as the year winds down.
